He was tasered three times. Because he didn't respond to the officers.
Since he was having a seizure, I somehow doubt he COULD respond.
The officer says he was being "combative"..(WTF? He was having a seizure, he had no control over his limbs!) and states that he thought he was drunk.
Thankfully the charges were dropped, but goodness.
I thought I'd contribute to the awareness of what's going on with the cops recently. All over this country, children, teens have been tasered..people ith mental and other health issues, people who were drunk, the elderly, the simply mentally distressed...and even people who were asleep or holding infants.
Most of this has happened WITHIN this year.
All of that is bad obviously.
Some innocent people have even died because of this.
Let me state up front, I do not hate cops. I dislike abuse of tools and power. I admire cops..when they're honorable and good ones..and to be quite honest, I've encountered very few decent cops these days and heard of less in the news and from strangers.
The point to this discussion is...I would like an opinion.
Have any of you ever thought about this? Does it concern you? What do you think this means for our country?

It sure does concern me because something like this could happen to anyone. I know there are plenty of great cops and like with so many other noble professions a good cop is priceless but there sure are some bad ones these days! I don't know what happens to some people when they're put in a position of power. They lost all reason and compassion and their "power" takes over, I guess. This may sound funny but my son-in-law had a huge fear of flying; he still does, actually, but we finally got him on a plane and he knows he can survive it now...lol Anyway, he refused to go along on a family vacation because he was so afraid he'd have a real fullblown panic attack and that he'd get arrested or tasered or something else like that. And, he's right, if he'd have had a panic attack and lost control something bad no doubt would've happened to him.
