Can anyone tell me how not to break a car

A few weeks ago when I had my mini van packed full of kids it decided to shut off everytime I slowed down. So i have not driven it since. On Halloween hubby truck almost didn't make it home from a party. It feels like it is only running on a few cyliders. So I borrow my mom's VW Bug and my hubby just called an told me the exhaust fell off on the way to work. We are afraid to drive anything right now. Has this happened to anyone else???

Oh yea. Seems their designed to fall apart now. Break out the duct tape.

haha We are going to use duct tape on the VW. I guess 2 pipes came apart.

All kidding aside, A muffler pipe gets too hot for regular duct tape. It would melt or catch on fire. You need to get exhaust pipe repair tape from either your local automotive store. Its basically metalic duct tape.

Thanks for the warning. I will remeber that. My husband actually found that a clamp had rusted apart and luckily that is all it needed. It was only a 10.00 part. Thank goodness Now for the other 2.
