Now that thanksgiving is right around the corner alot of people will be baking pies. If your not cooking for the Thanksgiving feast do you bring something with you? Like a pie or a side dish. I always bring a pie. And if your bringing a pie is it home maid? Some places make such good pies I think its easier to buy one.LOL Besides Im not a pie maker.LOL

Hi Terry,
When I do go somewhere for Thanksgiving yes I usually bring something. Usually a side dish.
Im cooking this year, and Im not much of a baker either. But Im going to attempt my hand at a Pecan Pie. LOL Cant wait to see how this turns out.

Bless your heart, thank you!
Im not really worried about the dinner so much, but this pie has me nervous. I guess if I cant pull it off, I will pray that Wal-Mart or Kroger has one for me. haha And that he wont be able to tell.

We don't bake pies. We order from Bakers Square. We always bring a French Silk pie as well as the traditional Pumpkin pie. I tried to talk the wife into just her & I going out to eat Turkey day. Our daughter didn't like that idea too well. HAHAHA! It's her house we go to.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

On Thanksgiving Day I'll be with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law. Two days later we are having a Thanksgiving at my grandma's, with my grandparents, sister, parents, brother-in-law, uncle, and three cousins. In BOTH cases I have been forbidden to bring anything. When they found out I was going to have to go to a food pantry to bring a vegetable, they were horrified and forbid me to bring anything! LOL

Well since you're not a pie maker, how if I fly over on my broom on Thanksgiving for a quick stop-over with my homemade Sweet Potato Pie. I'll bring the pie, if you can provide the whipped cream unless your kitties "force" you to eat it again...LOL

Since I am originally from Japan, my fiance's family asks me to bring something "Japanese-sh" dish for the day :)
I've been living in USA for over 10 yrs and I know that what I bring/have brought was not even close to be called a holiday dish but that's the whole point for my fiance's family which makes our holiday different from traditional Thanksgiving.

We will gather this coming Sunday at church and I will be bringing a pecan pie (bought at HEB) and corn with butter. Then on Thanksgiving day I will be bringing the turkey and stuffing. I am really looking forward to these days because I enjoy spending time with my brothers and sisters in Christ and with my family.

As you know our Thanksgiving here in Canada was October 8th, and my mom, brother, and gramma came to visit. A lot of times the feast is at my house, but if it isn't then I will bring something like a pie. I also help as much as I can with the cooking and cleaning.
Luv & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

I always make Broccoli Rice Casserole and Pink stuff. Pink stuff is a dessert I love to make with cool whip, pecans, coconut, cottage cheese, crushed pinapple, and either cherry pie filling or cherry jello. YUMMY!!!!

As long as what you bring is from the heart - that is all that matters. After all Thanksgiving is about sharing.
