This just happened to me a min ago. My body started to feel shaky from the inside out..It felt like I was going to pass out if I didn't get something to eat right away. It's not because I haven't eaten. I had soup for lunch around noon and its 4:30 here now. This has gone on, on and off since 04 when I was pg with my 1st child. I got myself a couple penut butter crackers with apple slices and I feel better now. Does this happen to anyone else and do you know what it is?

Yes, it happens to me, but I am a Type II diabetic. The symptoms you described sound like a low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. This is caused by the body producing an over amount of insulin, or by not eating. The timeline between noon and 4:30 is actually a long time. This is the same time of day that I tend to have my lowest blood glucose levels. It sounds that you may have had gestational diabetes (only occurs during pregnancy) which may have moved on to Type II diabetes after the birth of your child. Sounds like followup care was lacking. This is only a thought. An HbA1C blood test will determine whether or not you have the disease.

I was tested during both of my pregnancies but the tests came back negative. So I never even thought of that. I was uninsured for a year and a half so maybe I could have had this all along with out knowing it. When I was at the Dr last she did say my last blood test came back w/ a sugar leve in th 80's. Is this bordeline? I did not fast before the test though. But is was early so I know I did not have much to eat.

haha. No I'm not a homebody. The Dr and I had a blood test done a couple of months ago and that is what the sugar came back as. I just found a chart that says blood sugar should be anywhere from 80 to 120 before eating, and then 160 or less 2 hours after meals. Mine was in the 80's. Could thise disease also cause numbness in weird places like my face?

Oh yeah can this also cause muscle cramps? I get them in weird places too, like under my chin and in my back right near my lungs wich makes it hard to breath..

If I don't have enough food, I definetely feel faint. Don't worry, just take yourself more food everyday and you will feel better day by day!

I think you are undergoing hypoglycemia, i.e. low sugar. Are you diabetic by any chance ? If so, you must be on tablets to control it. Many times, when I too feel very shakey inside, i know my sugar level has gone down. Get yourself tested for diabetes and if your are safe, at such times, do eat a bar of chocolate immediately. You will feel much better immediately. Since it is happeing on and oft, eat a proper lunch, not just soup and keep chocolate bars ready.

haha I always thought soup was good for you. I had a similar episode yesterday at Wal-Mart so I did get a chocolate bar. It helped. I recently cut most of the sugar out of my diet. Could this have triggerd the more frequent episoded? I use sweet and low instead.

Hi sunrae60 This happens to my boyfriend alot.He becomes shaky and needs to eat something, its like a siugar attack,he needs to put some food in him to bring up his sugar level because its too low.Its not diabetes, its natural for some of us,even me to have this when i don't eat/skip a meal or havent eaten for a while(snacks).I also develope diabetes when i was pregnant with my daughter but it went away after she was born, some mommies get this only when they are pregnant. They cannot produce enough insulin for the baby and them so it works over time and cannot keep up,developing pregnancy diabetes. But since you said you had it since you were pregnant with your first daughter ofof and on,maybe you have a small form of diabetes, needing no needles or medication, just eating well and eating enough to keep up your sugar at the correct level.I would talk to your doctor about this. Hi Peanut jar. Thanks for the info. I am hoping that maybe this is just natural for me too. I am going to try and eat more regularly.

Some one have experience acupuncture told me that it could help him to relax when he suffered from depression. I am not sure whether it will help to stop the jitters, however,I believe it will help you to relax.

Yes, sunrae60, it happens to me all the time. I think it's low blood sugar. I feel better when I eat, too, after starting to feel that way. I strongly suggest you get tested for diabetes as well, even if there's not a family history - it has to start with someone, right? In the meantime, I've found the solution to be instead of eating three big meals a day, I "graze" all day on low-fat foods. For example, I'm not a breakfast eater. The sight of food in the morning makes me ill. But after a few hours, I'm starving! So, I'll have wheat toast smeared with a little jelly or half an English muffin and some fruit..whatever you favor. A few hours later, I'll have a small salad or again some fruit and nuts and if I'm really in the mood, maybe some baked fish with a splash of lemon juice and then some yogurt sprinkled with wheat germ. I just continue this all day. You're not ingesting more calories just because you're eating five or six times a day instead of three. This is called being a "grazer." Those who can and do eat three meals a day and that's it are called "troughers." People can be either but they need to be what works best for them. Remember the water - it's good for you ALL day with no calories and it refreshes and gives you energy.

I will have to try that. Last time I was at the Dr we had a very breif discussion on diabetes. I had forgotten about these episodes. Maybe I should give her a call. Thanks for all the good advice.
