Have you mastered the art of multi-tasking while myLotting? I've gotten quite adept at it, if I must say so myself! I open Word and type new discussions as I think of them, I read myLot discussions and at the same time, or rather in between pages loading I click links on one of my PTC sites or one of my credit-based safelists as well as post my ads to the safelists and blasters. In between I read my e-mail and delete and delete the junk and save what I want to keep. I sometimes even talk on the phone to prospects in one of my programs at the same time plus I listen to the TV (usually) or radio (sometimes). Who says we can't do more than one thing at a time! So, since this is a discussion, what are your experiences with multi-tasking? I've read that some of you have more than one computer going at a time, but since I only have one I can't do that...yet!

Hahahaha! You're good at multitasking but I think I can beat you.
I've got all that going that you mentioned but I'm also cooking a sauce for lunch tomorrow (bolognese sauce for the pasta), I've got the dishes in the sink waiting to be washed up, the washing machine going and coffee's brewing!
My cat is sitting on a pile of correspondence on my desk here and every now and then I give him a stroke to keep him purring.
(Sometimes, but it's not the case this evening, I put my feet in bowl of warm water to soak them before I then do a pedicure lol)
Next please!

Not so fast there...lol! I wasn't counting tasks such as cooking, laundry and dishes! I'm not cooking anyting right now but the coffee is brewing and the dishes are soaking in the sink. My washer is broken so I have to go to a laundromat to wash but I do that while I do my computer stuff too...HA-HA! My cats BOTH walk around my legs for a pet every few minutes plus as the next poster mentioned I do some butt tightening moves as well as some ab trimmers as I sit here. I'm up to the challenge of doing the foot soak too, just hadn't thought of it before.

Well Annie you sound very adept at multi-multi tasking...good for you! I do some...but no to the degree that you do. I listen to music, can talk on the phone and flip between sites after shrinking them down for easy access. When I am in our great room I can chat on the phone, use the laptop and have the television on in the background but that is about the extent of my multi-tasking achievements.
The other thing I do is some arm curls, stretching or 'butt squeezes' while chatting with my headset on. Sometimes sitting for hours at the computer really makes the body stiff and sore. Doing even a little bit has helped me work longer...and with less discomfort when I stop.
Keep up your good work...go girl!!!!

Hey, you're doing pretty well yourself, Raia! I also try to do some butt squeezes and some gut tighteners as I sit here on the computer. What a fitness guru I am! You're not kidding about getting stiff and sore! Sometimes I can barely get off my chair.

Sounds familiar :)
I have mastered multi-tasking, though not as well as you. I commend you on your punctuation. I have typos on Mylot at times because of my keyboard and multi-tasking. It's worth it though. Multiple computers...no! I cannot even imagine that much multi-tasking. wow.

I too am quit adaped to it. I usually eat, watch tv, listen to the radio, do my hw, my nails, hair.. ex. Yeah sure sometimes I dont probably make any sence and all ppl are really taking in are the letters like "sdndfkgnfjkgnotgjhnmlfdkhnmgvklhtogifjhmngmbhjgfjhmniogvkhgofmbhoingmjbiohnmkgoihkmgfoi" but really, sometimes we actually want to get our points across with these discussions! I like multi tasking it makes the time pass so much faster, as well as i feel like i get 105696989965768957 x the things i wouldve normally done if i was only doing one thing at a time!

I also do a multi tasking everyday. While attending calls of subscribers, I do email checking, mylotting and at the same chatting with my friends over seas and local as well. I print reports and also do crochet when its not really that busy. And i like being busy and I dont want to watse my time on something that is not worth wasting. When Im at homeI watch tv and at the same time also do crochets. I am really busy making crochet stuff for to be givne to my friends this coming christmas.

Oh yea, I can do many things at the "same time".
Adequate as a multi-tasker I guess. :)
It makes me feel superior to some who can only process one thing at a time, haha. :P

I am a multi-tasker from long ago, anniepa. I can remember back in high school when I would get home, turn on my favorite dsnce program on the TV, lay out my homework so I could study, and chat with my friends from school all at the same time. I still find myself reading or doing crossword puzzles while I'm on mylot and listening to my music player and talk radio.

I don't know if it's exactly multi-tasking but yes I do meander back and forth to things. For awhile I might be here, then switch over to my emails. But I tend to be more single-focused and just do one thing at a time. Like I was MIA from here for awhile today, and will be for this week, as I was doing more work toward a grant I'm working on. Back in September I submitted my application/grant proposal/career summary and so forth for this grant (John Simon Guggenheim!!) but the actual portfolio of my photo work to illustrate my work didn't have to be in until between November 1 to December 15th, so today I decided to get a move on and do some work with that portfolio and did some more "paperwork" for it, plus burned a DVD of my slideshow presentation of my work. I'm like that too with writing articles, but here I'm a little more into multi-tasking, as I'll have my word processor open, write, but if I need to look up something to look up facts, will open up more tabs to hunt down reference materials--I usually will never have the TV on though while working as I find it too distracting, but will have some music softly playing in the background

Well it is often said that multi-tasking is really something that ONLY women do well - because they have to !!
In fact, one of my favorite jokes is about mens inability to multi task.... but I have not been on Mylot long enough to know whether jokes are tolerated !!
I manage to have lots of different things on the go at the same time, and with Yuwie being so slow at the moment, I think you could probably write a short story AND get it published, just waiting for one of their pages to load ! Rather than getting twitchy sitting there waiting for Yuwie , I always play music, read emails, check on blogs and then sign on here and try and work out why I am here !!
