engagement rings

i am trying to find an engagement ring... yes i know its suppose to be my boyfriends responsiblity... but he is set on spending 6000 dollars on a 1 ct solitaire... and i frankly think that is ridiculous. he's not into the internet shopping even though you can get some pretty amazing deals online. so today i went a'searching online and found a few great deals. I found a 1ct 3stone diamond engagement ring for 500! 5500 less than he was ready to spend... why aren't guys as thrifty as girls? haha

Congratulations on your engagement! :) Tell your boyfriend he can spend the 5500 on other things instead, like your wedding or honeymoon. ;) But if he has the money to throw away and wants to spend so much on you, then that's great.
And I agree, guys aren't as thrifty as girls. Maybe because they want to feel like they can spend big amounts on stuff.

see thats the thing... he DOESN'T have the money to just throw around... we have a lot more important things to worry about. just found out we're having a baby! so it sort of bugs me when he says he's going to just go blow 6 grand... ugh

Oh, then congratulations on your baby. Now you do have to insist that he get a ring that costs less because having a baby would cost you much more. Besides, the ring is just a symbol of your engagement anyway, but the baby would be make some sort of a stronger bond for you as a couple. Good luck!

because they just don't get into as much. They want to buy what they want and be done. No shopping around. Takes too much time away from guy stuff.
