My son and his fiance always have Thanksgiving dinner with me and this year it's going to be extra special because my granddaughter will be here too. My daughter is a waitress and has to work but she will be comeing over when her shift is done. I'm trying to talk my mother into coming too but she will probably end up going to her sister's house the way she does every year which is ok with me if that's what she wants.
Will you be having Thanksgiving dinner with your family? Will there be a lot of people or just a handful?

Well this is a good for me. I am a member of the US Air Force and unfortunatly I will be working a 12 hour shift on Thanksgiving. So my wife and two kids will most likey go to a close friends home and then bring me some food. Last year I was in Iraq for Thanksgiving so I am just Thankful to be home this time. Haev a wonderful thanksgiving ctry. The best to you and yours.

Hey! I'm so happy to hear that you are home safe and sound! That's all that matters and I'm sure that's what your family is thinking too!!!!!!! Enjoy that dinner that they bring to you and know it's brought to you with all their love!

No, it will be not a lot of people here. It would be only me and my future mother-in law and my fiancee. It would be my first Thankgiving dinner, so I am really looking forward. We were just talking on the phone with my fiancee mum and she want go somewhere out, but I would rather have a traditional dinner with homemade cooking.I wish there will be more of us having thanksgiving dinner, but everyone is too far away from us.

This sounds like a good time for you to set your holiday preferences with your new family of in laws. Sometimes that's the hardest part of getting married. I hope you have a great day!

You brought back some memories for me here. When my ex was in the Air Force and we were stationed in Louisiana I really missed home and family. When holidays rollled around I always had him invite a few of the guys from the base who weren't able to make it home over for dinner and a small celebration. It not only helped me but I felt it helped them in a small way also. Good for you thinking about them.

Yes, going from 8 to 12 is a very small change but a change none the less. I'm sure those who aren't going to be there will be missed.

I will only have my daughter and a grandson eating Thanksgiving dinner with me so maybe we will go out to dinner at a nice restaurant. I don't feel like cooking a huge dinner this year for us as I can't find a turkey that is small enough for 3 people. If I cook dinner it will probably be a ham which I prefer.

A small family gathering is just as nice as a larger one. The whole idea is to be with family and that's all that counts.

Hi ctry ;) I think it's just going to be the four of us, my parents, my hubby and I. My brothers are a bit far from us so I don't think they'll come down however they just might surprise the lot of us and show up. It would be really nice if they do.

It's so "Hallmark" when family just shows up for the holidays isn't it? Every year I wish my daughter who lives in CA would do it....maybe some day. I hope your brothers do surprise you this year.

I actually wish that we had this tradition over here. IN sweden we dont have thanksgiving and therefor we dont celibrate it. I think however that it is great idea and something that we also should adopt!

There will be just myself, my husband and our baby daughter this year. We are stationed far from our families now. Christmas is just around the corner though and that will be big. I am so excited I can hardly stand it.
