Im around 8 months pregnant and ive been having problems with my stomach the past couple days. It kinda feels like the baby kicks and then i have pain in my stomach. It also kinda feels like my stomach is tightening up. Is this braxton hicks? Has anyone else ever dealt with it? I was reading up on it, but there doesnt seem to be anything i can do about it. I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.

I am nine months pregnant and have been having them on and off. Yeh it can feel like a tightening in your stomach but mostly it feels like you are having menstrual cramps and sudden pressure on your bowels. I got them when I was driving and it was so uncomfortable that I found myself gripping the steering wheel. If you are 8 months and having them all the time you may want to inform your doctor just to be on the safe side. Sometimes they can turn into early labor so yeh please tell the doctor about whats happening and good luck!

If you'll notice this discussion was started a month ago. I am now 37 weeks (almost 38). I was working then. After i went on my maternity leave they slacked off. So i was probably just being too hard on myself. Thanks for your comment.

It couldn't hurt to give your doctor a call to find out for sure, but at this point baby is probably getting a little cramped and has to stretch from time to time. In the final stages of my pregnancy, my daughter would kick straight down onto my bladder or kidneys as she made the rotation to be in position for delivery. Depending on my position, you could watch the slow motion roll, lol. My braxton hicks contractions didn't start until two days before I had her. These became frequent and once they reached 5 minutes apart, we headed to the hospital, only to find out it was just false labor. We waited until they were down to 3 minutes apart the next day. :)

I understand im a guy but I have been through two pregnacys and I would say yes that sounds just like them but i am not a doctor so if it gets bad i would give them a call and if they get close together call them, but the one thing about braxton hicks is they are erratic so if their seems to be a constant time between them it might not be! Hope I helped.
