Yes, I always rate other peoples discussions and responses. When you get to 100 posts you will notice a star beside your name like I have. Rating someone positive with the + button keeps their star high, and marking them negatively - makes their star crash and burn! I have never rated anyone negatively. I always rate with a + even if their opinion differs from mine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. The only time I don't mark + is when I report someone for either being abusive, copying and pasting an answer, or a two or three word answer.

Thank you for your input. I should have read all about MyLot but there was so much to read I just looked over it briefly. I did not know that I could rate other peoples discussions so I will have to go back to all of the ones that I have responded to and rate them. I just started rating all of the people that have responded to my discussions. Hopefully I will get all caught up today because I have gone back to all of the discussions that I started so I could rate people. I always give a + also even when I don't agree with their answer. Have a great day.

I rate discussion that i think are relevant... these are the discussions that i usually respond to...
I also rate the response to the discussions that i started... i can only choose one best response but there are cases when there are so many to choose from... so as a bonus, i give them a + rating...

thank you for reminding me this. i have never rated any discussions here, even my own. now, by reading the other comments, i learned that i could rate the discussion and is importance in the star marking.
i will start rating my discussions. although i still don't know how it benefits me or other participants in the discussion. what i know is about the star that appears on the side of the name to signify how others see your discussion, whether positive or negative..
thank you for this post.

I always rate all the answers to my discussions and also always hand out a best response sooner or later. That will help them earn some extra and I hope that they will also rate mine in return, however i dont really care or see what they do =)

Yes ofcourse! I always make it a point to rate a discussion, normally I rate positive discussions and don't rate the ones which Idon't like as negative, because it is the exprssion by the participanr I may or may not like his/her ideas, but that doesn't mean that if I don't like any ones idea then I should rate the discussion negative! If I like the discussion immidiately after reading it I involuntarily rate that discussion as a positive one!
I also rate the best discusssion also, though I couldn't so for last few of my discussions so far as I was absent from this quorum for about 10 months and I have just joined again this week, after experienced a couple of tragedies in my family. Rating a discussion as a best one really encourages one to post a sincere , honest and frank opinion, this I can say from my personal experience as I havev been rated with more than 100 responses as the best ones and every time I try to be sincere and informative, instead of eloborative and boring!
Thanks dear friend, your topic is good one and will help other members also to add to their knowledge! All the best!

Yes, rate and be rated. It's a simple feature for us to enjoy here, to honor the posters who responded to our posts and as we respond to theirs' as well.
Just remember to rate positively as much as possible, this is what mylot has told us to do so. This'll help us and others to continue their enjoyment and participation here, to be a responsible poster and mylot member.
To understand more about ratings, please check this link about DRS (discussions rating system).

I always rate response to my discussions and always press the positive button. I also rate the discussions started by others and there too I rate them positive. It helps the members in enhancing their reputation by mylot.

Yes, I usually rate all the discussions, and responses, the only ones I don't rate, are the ones that are ridiculous! It would have to be a real bad post for me not to rate!
I think that is why , when you get to 100 posts you have that star rating beside your avatar!

Yes, I do. And I strongly reccomend you to rate as many discussions and replies as you can/ Not only it has an influence on ourreputation but on our incomes too. though it is unknown how big this influence is. Anyway i think it's important to rate "+" all the good post and "-" for bad ones (those who has nothing to do with subject, stupid oneliners or abusive texts). It keeps myLot community in shape^_^
