i have used quite a few free servers and let me tell you i found out that ifastnet is a very handy one. thwey have less down time and you get a lot of other options with thatr so you can do a lot of stuff like forums and other things. i run an image gallery package on their free server to share my images and i have seen nice performance from them.

It depends what sort of website you require. A basic text only type, a online store or a comprehensive site. Many free hosts have limitaions on their features and hence might affect the type of web site you want. Limitations include scripting for comprehensive form creation, inclusion of flash based components, suitable file size uploads, sufficient storage space, specialized scripts, bandwith, database provision, and so on. Awardspace, 110mb, and freeservers seem to be popular, but their are several free hosts. I use Netfirms, which has been suitable for me so far, all though it has a banner that must be displayed (Maybe check my Netfirms based website in my profile) Perhaps consider what features you require for your website, and then find a free host, and any reviews to decide what one is suitable...

Domains cost money so I don't think there are any that offer free domains and free everything else too.
But subdomains here... many sites are available.
Check out freewebs at http://members.freewebs.com for instance. I have blogged a review on this - you can see http://lordwarwizard.blogspot.com/2007/07/check-out-freewebs.html if you are interested.
Cheers.:D

mmh..if you are searching about hosting +domain..i don't know if usa will be suitable as well.such as may be for some offers yes!!normally to register a domain and subdomain..you pay alitte fee..for registration!!dependingwhich kind of website you want build there..such as if you want a website very small about some pages 3-4 you can find some but without a hosting solution as well!!
i herd about tol.it where you can register all for free for the first year but from the second you will pay 40 euro per year..so you can move it when the second here come to another provider....

For which blog platform to use, it seems a bit of a sticky choice between the top two, blogger and wordpress. I read that wordpress is more customizable, with plenty of plugins, and looks better. Blogger which I use, does allow direct access to your template which you can change, but with a bit of html experimentation. It seems easy to set up through the settings. However, there are different features for both platforms which may or may not suit you. Blogger has templates which you can import, and a good tutorial site called blogger tricks and tips to enhance a blogger template. Maybe someone here knows a bit more about wordpress, since I have not used it. I wish I could add more user info...
