Border Collie, these small, black and white Wolves are the most intelligent of breeds able to learn command words as rapidly as a human child learns language. The have boundless energy and are keen to please, affectionate, playful and superbly agile athletes.
all the best urban

I totally agree Border Collies are the best breed in my opinion too, much for the same reasons as yourself, they are highly intelligent and lots of people can't cope with their energy. Thats why lots of border collies and collies crosses end up in animal shelters as people can't cope with their demands. They were origionally bred as working dogs to round up sheep so what do people expect?
I think thats a definate bonus for the breed the fact that they have boundless energy, who wants a dog that is going to sit by the fire all day? lol

For me my top choices are:
Beagles- they are friendy, easy go temperament and they sing like hounddogs when they bark.
Chis-they are small, fits in any space, eat small, poop a little.Easily carried anywhere. Fisty dogs with big heart.

My favorite breed is pomeranian. I have an all black male pomeranian named Machi. Machi is as important as my children. He gets up no matter what time it is and walks by my side to the bathroom, kitchen, to check on kids etc. Sometimes I swear hes a real (hairy) boy. When I got him, I thought he would be 4 to 7 pounds. Machi is 17 pounds. I actually was upset, at first, I thought he couldnt possibly be purebreed. I contacted the breeder and found out that this type of pomeranian are not real small like toy cup. I love him no matter what. His double coating is gorgeous. The trademark tail is beautiful. His coat shines. I took him to the groomer and she refused to cut his coat because it was long and soft. Not bad for a first time dog owner hah? I think that any animal trainer would tell me I am doing a million thing wrong. Hes spoiled and gets what he wants. Why not he doesnt do terribly mischeivous things. He just likes to be carried. Who wouldnt?

I don't have any certain favorie breed of dog. My whole life I've had dogs off & on but i've never owned any breed more than once.
I've had a collie, rottie, springer spaniel, black lab, chiuahua...
I guess if I had to say looks wise I would say a Husky because I just think they are absolutly beautiful.
My least favorite dogs are pretty much any kind of terrier, I think they are all nasty looking, with the exception of the pit bull terrier which I adore!

My all time favourite dog is definately the Husky..I think they are just so gorgeous and such great dogs...Thats actually the breed I was looking for when we were getting a dog but my husband and I were a little iffy about it because they might not have gotten on well with my cats...We ended up getting 2 dogs that are part Shepard and part Chow supposedly and also supposed brother and sister but if you look at them its kinda hard to believe LOL they are both part Chow though and Reg definately is part Shep but Ray Ray we think is Chow/Lab or something...

I love my labs, they are fun, cute, lovable, they are intelligent and trainable, they love to be with their people and to please their people.
They are great company and can bark loud enough to scare off intruders. They are great bed warmers and foot warmers.

Flatcoated retriever is my absolute favourite, but I also really like cavalier king charles spaniel, irish setters and golden retrievers. It's the dogs' outgoing personality that draws me to these breeds.

Chinese shar pei is my favorite. They just so lovable. They just loved to be loved. Their pretty much easy to train and most of the time you don't even know their is a dog in the house. It's the only breed that I will own. I lost my chunky 3 years ago to heart problems. And am not just getting fully over it and looking for a new puppy. Everyone I know who owns or has owned a shar pei always says the same thing, they could never see themselves owning any other type of dog breed.
