Have you ever left a 'comment by mistake,' on a friend's profile page?

Well, I just did! Recently, the comments that I was choosing, to put on my 'friends' profile pages, weren't working, for some unexplained reason. I thought I'd give it another try, and add a comment to a 'new friend's' page.
Well it worked! The only thing is, the comment I selected, isn't the one that's on their page. Mine is the one and only comment (at the moment), and it happens to be 'a bikini clad hula girl.' This is not like me, trust me. I don't even know this 'friend' yet, or if they're male or female, as I've mentioned in a previous discussion.
Maybe somebody will get a laugh out of this, and maybe even 'my new friend.'
Has this happened to you before?
Were you embarrassed?
Did you 'let the friend know, it's a mistake?'

First off if they don't approve of this I am sure they'd delete it. Also you could PM them asking for it to be deleted. Then you also can add another comment as well. I've never done this as I don't add a lot of comments to friends pages.

Hi Grandpa Bob,
I would hope they would too, but the thing is, they're 'very new' to myLot, and I'm not sure if they're comfortable with what can be done etc. I did PM them telling them that the wrong comment posted, but didn't suggest they delete it. I'll see if I hear back from them. I didn't know how to add the comments, until a 'friend' gave instructions in a discussion. I think they really liven up the page too, and they have been working correctly for me. At least I know it works again now. Maybe myLot should install a 'cancel button,' so that if we don't like the way a comment looks, we can redo it. Thanks so much for your response here. I truly appreciate it, and your 'friendship.':)

Hi suyuan,
Actually, I did exactly this, and we've got it all sorted out now. Thanks for your response.

Hi Someonesmom
Sorry I had to goggle. You are having no luck with that comment section. At least it is back up and running for you
Here is what I do I test them on my hubbys or my page at the "other site" to see if they work. You can test the binkini's on Justin's (Jutmyne on here) profile page he won't mind LOL You can test all the rest on mine, well actually you can test them all out on mine if you want.

Hi mfpsassy,
I'm very happy that the comments are up and running again, however, I wasn't expecting this to happen. Thanks for the offer, for future testing.:) You never know, I just may take you up on this. Have a great day, and thanks for your response.

So sorry to hear of this Mom!!!
I would be horrified if this ever happened to me however the message has always been the one I chose...
I think I would try to nitify them of the mistake and explain myself as it would be embarrassing!!! I may also try top post another comment on their page that was in proper taste and hopefully it would work properly the second time!

Hi heavenschild,
Thanks! I've already done so, and have posted the second comment as well. Fortunately, it worked great this time.:) Thanks for sharing, as always.

I did something worse. I had more than one window open (computer wise) and with one I was leaving comments to my friends on here while with another window I was replying to discussions. As I was copying and pasting the comment I was using on my friends pages I accidentally copy and pasted a response I had written out on a different program I was using directly onto a friend's page! And before I realized it I had hit the submit button. Whoops! I certainly didn't mean to do this and yes, I was embarrassed. I sent a message to this friend and explained what happened. I believe in my message I asked this person to delete the comment, but after going back to their page (about a week later) it was still there. I did put the correct comment I wanted to use to begin with on this person's page right after my accidental comment. Hopefully this person has deleted the other comment by now, but I doubt it. :(

Hi sacmom,
Wow, that's really upsetting, and I do hope that by now the incorrect comment has been removed. I understand how you feel about this 'for sure.' I wish that myLot would place a 'cancel comment feature' on our pages, so that we can correct it 'immediately,' if this happens. This way, we can take care of it, before 'our friend' even knows of the error, and just start again. Thanks for your response.

Hello again.
I was finally able to view my profile page and I saw the comment that you left me. As you mention here, I did get a laugh out of it when I saw it, and I now have more of an understanding for the message you sent me.
I was not at all offended by it, and my chuckle came at imagining how you must have felt when you saw what you had done. I am just honored that you would take the time to send me anything. That is very kind of you.
However, I will be happy to delete it if that would make you more comfortable.

Hi hellsangel,
I'm glad that you have more of an understanding of this now, and I can also see why you'd laugh too. It is 'somewhat' amusing, I suppose. I'm so glad that I didn't offend you, and appreciate your kind words. I'll leave it 'up to you' as to whether you delete it, but it is somewhat outside of my comfort zone. Thanks for your response.

Thanks so much for doing this, as I was quite 'upset' by the error, to say the least. I didn't want to give the wrong impression to a 'new friend,' and will be as careful as possible, when leaving comments in the future. I really do appreciate your understanding. Have a great day!

If it is outside your comfort zone, then what kind of host would I be to allow it so stay? Consider it removed.
