hi
i have always felt that education should have an impact on the student and those around them, in short it should hep you become better person, open your mind, but I feel more and more young people are graduating high school with out anything to show for it ..they leave the academic knowledge behind with their books, and have gained no holistic values / skills/ manners /etiquette etc as part of their education they are same as or worse than a person who hasn't had the benefit of an education I find that a shame. It was not like that in my parents time , but becoming like that now..why?
and do you think this is alright?

yes,I think so!
When I am in my school is such ,students finish high school ,only to learn that scientific knowledge of books but for that how live with people the cultivation and is not the habit of learning to train.
AS a teacher,a lot of people in the knowledge unilateral improve their academic preformance,no thought is not taught to the students the real thing.
Thanks!

It is sad to know that the purpose of going into school is not achieved. Hmm, what i mean, yeah students learned the academics but the values integration is not internalize by the students.
As a teacher, i always emphasize to my students that learning my subject is expected and nice to know they really learn from me. But, i always remind them that the things they learned is useless if their not using it in a nice way. Application in real-life situation, values should always be there. Anyway, at the end of the day, what is important is how they deal with others.

Yes your are precisely correct. young people nowadays don;t care much about edcation. there are factors that we have to consider why these happen. one is due to poverty and cannot continue further their studies. second maybe it's the kind of responsibility parents perform in terms of instilling the true value of education to heir kids. If a school teaches purely knowledge, the tendency students will not see the importance or the value of education. as teachers we have to teach them not only the knowledge they need but also teach them values. once these students will internalize the values that are being taught to them, then they will see what is behind education. also, you were saying that education was not like before. yes its true, because there are many things that distracts children to concentrate on their education. Computers is an example.

Now a days, no one is concerned about holism or spiritualism. World is globalised and dynamic. every one is running behind money. They are so busy and want to earn money to fulfill their family needs and that's why they don't have peace. But while doing work also we can go for spiritualism/holism bcoz we know we don't have time & that is the fact but still if we want we can do anything without affecting our job. We can do meditation in free time or we can remember god's name internally like while eating food, during bathing, before sleeping etc. For more details check this website: www.abssatsang.org
If parents are holistic then children will follow the same. This is my own experience as my father/mother are doing same. Since beginning i saw spiritual environment in my house but it doesn't mean i m totally out of this world. I m highly educated and in job. Holistic doesn't mean u r fool and don't know anything and u r like a villager but generally people think like that and start laughing and don't know what they are loosing. They are wasting their time without doing any good thing in their life.
