Carry love with you and you will never have to look for it..
It's my own original motto:) I use to have a friend tell me to carry what you want to have with you ..

I've always liked Harry Truman's little desk tag that read "The buck stops here" and also one of my husband's favorites, "The best revenge is living well." Another favorite is "Perform random acts of kindness and senseless beauty!" Different but also illuminating is Voltaire's suggestion as to what society should do with lawyers, but it is not quite fit for publication on a family site.

My motto I got from my dad. He'D always say, "Suck it up and move on." Things were tough when I was a kid, from every direction. And my dad would let us nurse our wounds and cry, but he wanted to make sure we dealt with it and went on. So if we were worrying or lingering over something that had happened, he'd say, "Suck it up and move on." At the time I didn't appreciate it, but now it gets me through. When my kicthen sink caused all that trouble, I cried. And then I told myself to suck it up and move on. LOL

I tend to use them as my "sigs" on my emails. I have one that is a quote from another poster on a message board about cats that I use on that board. But for most of my mail I have more common ones.
"The sign said 'Bridge Construction,' not 'Bridge ends and will drop your car in the river.'"
I don't get even, I get odder.

Hello laurika. My favorite motto is 'the best things in life are free'. As I am one who enjoys freedom without being bound to anything, I have this motto on my cell phone screen whenever I turn it on. Thanks for your discussion, dear laurika.

That was a wonderful quote, Laurika. As all of us in mylot community as friend even though we all are on online system. Right time at right place, as that particular quotation fulfilled the 5W system in writing for; when, whom, who, what and why. Much thanks, Laurika.
For me I have been motivated by the following quote for my learning in 'moral of language' and 'moral of tone' for my writing skills;
"Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own."
- Carol Burnett, US actress & comedienne (1936 - )
It was given for my Bookmark, source link;
