Could I speak out at that time ?

Last week a thief got into one of our colleagues'room and took many things away.The news spread out of our company and qusetions have asked out ? If once the thief get into my room?What could I do ?could I weak up my dormmate and speak out ?Brankly,I scare of it . But ,I think if once the thief really get into my room,I will find a best time to make others know and should not fear it .If not ,the thief will think there is no people that can do something and do it more often.I think this is what everybody do not want to see .
