Do you treat you pet like part of the family? I have 2 cats and I used to have 3 till a couple of monthes ago. Blackie got out and never came back. She was a wild cat and I would give her chicken that I would cook up for her. Thats how I lured her in my house. She was so skinny and starving to death. She adapted to being in the house really good. But she wouldnt eat cat food I had to cook chicken up for her. She would eat dry cat food but that really wasnt enough for her. And she finally put some weight on. I didnt mind cooking the chicken up for her at all. So do you cook for your pets?

Buster is most definitely treated as part of the family. I make macaroni and cheese a lot as dad loves it. Well so does Buster. I mix a bunch in with some dry dog food and he has a feast. When we cook a whole turkey we cook up the giblets and neck and give them to him. Hamburger helper leftovers also mixed is another treat he gets. I think he eats better than my son at times. HAHAHAHA!
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I give cat or dog food to mine, but there have been occasions where I did cook for them.
When Tazz was sick a few years back, he was in really bad shape and wouldn't even eat. So I talked to the vet about cooking some food for tazz. He gave me a few suggestions and I started cooking:) Tazz slowly started eating again and got better after a while.
He is back eating dog food because it's more convenient and having to scoop that poop I know it's worth specially for that part :):)
But it was great cooking for him for a while and he really enjoyed it:)

I wouldn't mind cooking for them on a regular basis but I would have to really learn about proper pet nutrition because what I think it's good for a dog or a cat is not always necessarily true. I had to read a lot about it when I was cooking for tazz and I was really careful to add things that were good for him as a dog, not for me as a person :)
SOmetimes the food looked really strange but it had what he needed LOL

When I used to have a LOT more kitties (and you know a lot of my story I think right?) I had to cook up food for the kitties all the time. And they would eat anything, and I mean anything!
Now that I only have two, I switched to getting regular cat food, and Fancy Feast at that. Now these two primadonnas won't eat anything else but cat food, both moist (Fancy Feast) and dry food, the Purina One

Do your two princesses get tired of which flavor of Fancy Feast. Honestly they drive me crazy at times. They don't like any of the roasted, grilled or marinated varieties and really don't like that new brand, the Floretine versions...Sometimes they'll eat nothing but the Salmon flavor, then another time turn their noses at it..yikes

Yes I do too Terry.
I must admit my 3 dogs are spoilt.
I buy the pet chicken mince for them and cook it in the microwave for a few minutes so the juices come out, it's sort of half cooked half raw, then I mix the complete dog biscuits with the chicken and juices, they love it.
Not a morcel left in their bowls. LOL.

As a general rule, we do not give them "People" food but since all the recalls of pet foods, we have changed that rule. WE now make the treats for them instead of buying them. Less chance of them getting poisioned that way.

Funny my husband always say why do i cook for my dogs and not for him. My answer is the "my dogs never critisized my cooking".
Yes, I cook for my dogs since I feed them natural food. And it requires cooking since they dont like it raw. It usually takes hour of my time in the morning but I dont consider it work but labour of love. THey love my cooking since they finished all their food without any leftovers. And doesnt complain what I give them. I think sometimes they are still longing for more food, but i dont want them to get obese.

hi terry. Yes, I regularly cook for our German Shepard dog, Ashley. She's 4 years old and she doesn't like to eat dry dog food. NOt only do I cook her favorite food, the chicken, she likes her warm milk, too. She has her own big can of powdered milk that easily runs out of stock because of her appetite.
Ashley doesn't like foods that are specific for her own kind, but she much prefers to eat human food. She even refused to eat the popular brand of canned dog food I bought for her. lol!

I don't cook for my pets and they rarely get table scraps. I guess I'm weird. I love having the dogs around, but I just don't put them on the same level as the humans.

I wish I were your pet. You cooked chicken for her! She is only a cat and I am a person but I have on chicken to eat. Never!I am sorry to tell you I don't like animals ,much less cook for them. Animals are dirty and easily spread diseases. Someone will say I lack of sympathy.Maybe. I can't persuade myself to accept it.
