Do you think that that mark it down 1/2 price because it is old, I often think of that, I know a older Lady that would keep her Perfume or Cologne in the Refrigerator, does that sound weird? she said it helped it stay longer, what do you think? Tell me what you think about anyone of those questions?

I do not think it is because it is old. It is either an overstocked or come on item. I do know from experience that having some expensive perfume that is at least 5 years old the most important way to prolong the scent is to keep it in the dark. Most expensive French perfumes (not colognes) come packaged in a well sealed box. Pretty bottles look nice on your dresser but the light is bad for the contents.

Is that something that you came up with, it does make sense though.

No it is not something I came up with. I learned that when I lived in France and most French women know this to preserve their perfumes.

FYI: Here’s a quick guide on how to preserve perfume.
Different factors such as LIGHT affect the quality and longevity of a perfume’s scent. As much as possible, perfumes should be stored in places where they cannot be exposed to direct sunlight or any source of heat.
Use perfume once its bottle is opened. Oxygen that is present in an opened bottle of perfume will also alter the character of the scent. When not in use, keep perfumes in their original packaging or light-tight aluminum bottles. If you have the means, transfer perfume in spray bottles or those with roller tops. These containers will minimize oxygen exposure.
Try preserving them in the fridge at a relatively low temperature between 3-7 degrees Celsius. Dust will also alter the perfume’s smell character so keep those dust-cloths in hand.

Well i think that perfume or cologne that are maked down to ½ price then i can buy 2...
I do not think that it is becuse it is getting old, but one can see when the product has been produced by looking at the box.
I have heared about people putting cologne and perfume in the fridge, as well as film for cameras and batteries. I do not know if it works or not, but i think that the fridge is for food and drinks, and mabe medicine that has to be in a cold place.

I have always wondered whether or not a perfume loses its original scent when it becomes old? I thought it did, but I am not sure. I know that I keep perfumes for years and after a while, they just don't smell the same. Should there be an expiration date on the bottle?

I think the reason they mark down the prices is so that stores can get in the new stocks. That is, the promotional items for the time of year. it doesn't mean there is any thing wrong with the perfume, it means you are getting a good deal!

I think you are right! They have some on sale right now. buy one get one 1/2 off, it really is a deal, because they jack the prices up on Perfume and Cologne. I don't like cheap perfume like Avon, it doesn't last.
