Helll subhal. I am the youngest in my family. Of the three siblings, there is an eight-year gap between us. But I think that it is ok for us. I love my siblings very much and respect them very much. I have always been taken good care of under the protection of my siblings as I am the youngest. hehe

I have no brothers from the same two biological parents, but my youngest brother is 12 years younger than me.

Well my oldest sibling is 3 1/2 years older. My oldest child and youngest child are 8 years apart. My Grandparents have 20 years between their oldest and youngest (my mom's oldest brother is 64 and her youngest brother is 44) I wouldn't want to have kids that far apart. My oldest uncle had children and a few years later my other uncle was born.

i'm the youngest of three and theres 15 years between me and my oldest sister. personally i have no problem with how big the age gap is now. but when i was younger my sisters and mum used to go out together on shopping trips, and pubs and i always felt left out. if i ever have children, i would have them 1 or 2 years apart so they can play together and have company.

My sister and I are 7 years apart(I am the older of the two) and my kids are 6 years apart. I feel there's no correct age gap. It depends on the comfort level of the couple. I chose a long gap because I wanted my older child to be independant before I considered a second one.
There are working couples who decided to have the kids with a shorter gap so that the kids grow together and though the initial pressure is more..it's not as long as the couples with a longer gap.
Taking my own example...now I have to start all over again with nappies and it will be atleast 3 years before I can take a breather.

for the best gap is 3 or 4 yrs, so they can play it normally and its good for parents too. me and my brother is 5 yrs of gap but its fine but my sister & brother just 1 yrs and both of them are same birthday even the time.

well, I am not much of one to advice on this I suppose. There are several years between each of my children. I have 13.5 years between my eldest and my youngest - but this is due mostly to miscarriages and losses. We have one son that is buried - and we have a few that were miscarried -
I do not think it is my place to tell anyone that there are too many years, and it is not okay...
We have what God has given to us, and what would we suggest? refusing His blessings? no I do not think so.

I think 2 to 3 age gap is better in siblings. In our family i've seen that my elder brothers and sister are the closest one among others, their age gap were 2 to 3 years. They have common friends who enjoys to be with. While me, as the youngest one with an age gap of more than 4 years, i am not that close to them since we have different insights & different generation.

There are two years between my sister and I, and two years between my sister and brother. We are all pretty close. We fought like most kids when we were younger, but we were also protective of one another.
My three children with my ex are spaced pretty similarly. They get along most of the time, but they can fight like cats and dogs too.

i am the third among 5 children. i have one year difference with the brother i am next to, and he also has one year difference with our eldest. my parents really have a hard time when the three of us reach college.
me and the one next to me has 5 years difference and he and our youngest has 7 years gap. the four of us are already working when our youngest was in college, so he has more good life as a college student.
now that i have a family, the gap between my two children is 7 years. we really plan for this since it's hard to care for children when both of us are working.

I think it is more to do with how old parents are when they have their last child rather than the years between the children. If parents are still popping out children at the age of 50 and they started at 35 making a difference of 15 years then I think that is slightly wrong. Whereas if someone has their last child at 40, but started at 20, making 20 years difference then that is fine in my opinion.
There are 5 years and 6 months between me and my sister.

Hi subha,
I have only one sister.we have a pretty 6 year gap.i think it is good.
Doctors recommend 3 year gap between next child for good health for mother and child.
Have a nice day.

I've got you beat on the age gap hon. My brother is 20 years older than I am, and my sister is 18 years older than I am. And we're all from the same parents even! My mom was 40 when she had me. She actually had thought that, because of her age, she couldn't get pregnant anymore. Boy did I prove her wrong! Hahahahaha!

There is no hard and fast rule that which should be the idle difference between siblings. It depends upon lots and lots of factors governing the birth of second sibling. I think the difference between you and your brother i.e. 7 years is not much...when you grow older, you will forget the difference gradually (initially it looks more). My younger brother is nine years younger to me....but if we stand together (his height is more than me) an unknown person cannot tell the difference between our age...in fact some of them wrongly guess that he is older than I.

i have a brother who is 2 years younger than me.I feel this diffrence is quite good.I mean not too long or short. From our childhood we were good friends and now more than that.Ofcourse even now we quarrel for some silly things and enjoy a lot.We will have good discussions and sharing information..
