Does it take for you to record a message for your phone? It just took me around 10 times I kept messing up so then I would have to start all over again. Then I would laugh and mess it up again.LOL Maybe its because I hate my voice! So can you record a message with one try or does it take several trys?

Usually 4 times before I feel comfortable with it.
I want to make sure I sound clear.
I don't like listening to my voice either.

Years ago in my drinking days I recorded one where I had the stereo on very loud then I said,
"Hello? HELLO? Wait, let me turn the music down. Oh wait I'm not here. HAHAHAHA! Leave a message fool."
People loved that recording as they started to talk to me as if I was really on the phone after turning the music down. Too funny.

My boyfriend had never change his message on his phone. Sice I'm living with him (2 years) it,s the same. I don't know how to change it. it's funny because it,s the message that comes with the phone. We speak french and the message is in english. Sometimes people arenot sure they are calling us lol

Here's what I say.
"Bonjour, comment allez-vous? (Good day, how are you?) Hi, there, I cannot come to the phone right now, please leave your name, phone number and a brief message, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Merci Beaucoup. Au revoir" (Thank you. Goodbye)
Hehe..once I did it in German too. LOL Hey, it's different

HaHaaa!..It takes me so many times I don't even count anymore, lol!
Every time I hear my voice I go OMG, is that really me?...ugh!..then I try to change my voice and sound more chipper and that's even worse, haha!...All I can say is, many, many tries, and sometimes even goes into the next day...haha!
I remember one year my daughter(in her 20's then) made a recording on our answering machine for the Christmas holiday. She can talk like an elf, somewhere a cross between Mickey Mouse and a Smurf if you can imagine that.....we laughed sooooooooo hard making this recording because she sounded so silly, that we had to re-do it I couldn't tell you how many times, and it wasn't a short message....it was so much fun and such a great silly memory for me now that you brought this subject up....Thanks Hon, I haven't thought about that in a long time.

As long as I can make you smile, that's all that matters. And yes, I can be really silly, especially here on Mylot and I find great pleasure in it. At my age, whatever works, haha!

LoL Im like you Terry, I dont like how I sound on recordings. So it was taking me MANY tries, then finally I said F it, Im just going to put it back to the plain old VM lady saying the number and leave a message. I couldnt get that to work again...lol So I said Hi, you just dialed ..... and if you meant to do that, then leave me a message. Bye!....and left it at that. Im not changing it anymore!

I leave mine with the pre-recorded voice. It's a very deep male voice. I have bill collectors calling and don't want them to recognize my voice. HAHAHAHA!!

LOL the first time I had an answering machine I did record the message a few times until I liked it. BUt from them on I don't really care much . I do it once and as long as I didn't mumble any words amd the message is clear, it's fine with me LOL
So 1 try for me now :)

It took one try for me. But then my message is kinda brusk. It says:
You have reached me. I am not answering the phone. If you are a creditor, you will get your money when you get your money and not one minute before that. If you are someone that I want to talk to, leave your digits and I will call you back when I feel like it.
I know it sounds kinda mean, but it gets the job done. The people who really want to talk to me leave message and everyone else just hangs up. It is perfect. I almost never have messages from anyone other than my family or my real friends.

It takes me a while! Reason being that I always find something really really funny when I'm trying to be serious so I had to redo it about 10 or more times!

It usually takes me a few times. Right now, thought, I don't even have a message because my cats erased it. Once the greeting is erased, it defaults back to the original one that came in the machine. SO that's what I have.

well actually my friend it takes me so many times sometime that i lose track after a few times.i have to keep on recording until i don't hear all the kids yelling and screaming in the background,so i just keep pressing the listen to your message until i get it right.because sometimes you will hear hi i am not here right now, then all of a sudden in the background you here would you stop touching the t.v. or what ever the case is,and i dont think people want to hear that on the message lol.pattie

LOL I hate my voice so I write out what I want to say and I just read it off. I never check to see how it sounds. I just do and move on. LOL

It usually take me two times. Because once I listen to it the first time, I find that I don't like how my voice sounded, so the next time I try to lighten my tone, and if it sounds reasonably OK, I'll leave it at that. If I do it too many times, I know my messages will only get worse. : )

We were trying to do that the other day but we kept mucking it up so we have left our old message as it is for now.

Hi TerryZ! haha..I don't like the sound of my voice too that is why i really don't like recording it. It is as if it is not my voice. haha.. I hear my voice when I talk but it seems different when I hear it in a recording machine. haha.. Take care and have a nice day. :)
