Java.... why Java? Well, as what I have read from some articles, Gosling was trying to figure out a name for a programming language that was patterned to C++... then he came to realize he had this cup of java coffee I think on his table then eventually, alas! He named the new language Java.. well, i am not sure of the validity of this story!
