Do you find sales staff and cashiers in retail to be very rude?

I have found that I hate shopping in bigger stores now because of this. It seems to me the sales staff totally do not wish to be bothered at all, especially when they are busy gossiping about this or that. I find I tend to look for smaller stores when a customer is still valued, and not looked at as a Pain in the neck. How about you, what is your opinions on this?

I find that you do not get the personal touch that was once the norm at stores. I can tell it gets worse every year. I try to get to know the people who work at the places I shop at on a regular basis.

I tend to agree. Customer service has gone down considerably over the years, expecially with the growth of huge outfits like Walmart. THe smaller stores tend to focus more on the customer because the need them to sustain the business. THe huge department / outlet stores don't really care about the individual customer satisfaction. They really don't care if customers are upset the know that there gonna come back because they have the best deals.
