Okay!! What the he11 is that awful smell??

I am sitting here typing away and I can smell something that is not good for my sensitive nose...I can smell it but I can't locate where it is coming from....I am looking around and saying "where is that smell coming from?" I am smelling my armpits, and my shirt...I am looking at the dog and thinking, "can it be you?" Of course, she is looking at me like I am out of my mind...LOL...If anyone saw me right now they would think the same thing...LOL...
Have you ever smelled something but couldn't locate it?

I would have my hubby smell for it but he has a cold so that won't work...It was my son's hat..He works with polyurethane and he left his hat in here while he was on the computer...I would know if it was doggy smell, cuz they have a smell all their own...gross..

Yes I have and normally it was my dog(s)... lol They let out a smell that would knock you right over that I do know it's happened to me many, many times...

Nope, I know that dog smell...It was my son's hat..he works with polyurethane and when he used the computer he left his hat in here..That crap stinks...

I suppose I have, but I usually figure that something fell out of the kitchen garbage can and I clean around there. I also check the basement near the freezer, to see if some package did not get in, and then there is the grocery bags, but then again that is not a problem. I have found something in the cupboard that was way behind something, so if I cannot find where a smell is, I keep looking until i find it.

hahaha that is funny! I have often sat in front of the laptop and smelt funny stuff especially when someone in our family let out some air hahaha

Oh, yes the good ole air perfume from the human.....LOL..I figured it out..It was my son's hat..he works with polyurethane and that stuff stinks..He left it in here while he was on the computer...

Yes, that has happened to me, and I have to say, I get paranoid that it is me, even if I've not long ago had a shower, lol! I keep waving my hands around me and sniffing frantically, and also go as far to ask my wife if she can smell me!! It's been over three hours since you posted this, I wonder if you've found the source yet!

I gave up last night..This morning I came in to use the computer and the smell was gone..Then I went into the living room and there it was again...It was my son's hat...he works with polyurethane and that stuff stinks....

Aww...you poor thing! I was doing that the other night, only I knew what it was I just couldn't find it. S/o had apparently stepped in dog poo but his shoes had gotten kiked under the playpen near the computer chair. It wasn't until I was tearing down the play pen and trying to figure out how there'd been a diaper leak in it without me noticing that I found his shoes.

So did you ever figure out what that smell was??
I have a similar story. I was sitting on the couch watching TV when I started to smell a very strong smell of poop. Since I was potty training the kittens, I began to frantically search around the couch to see if someone had done something under the throw or a pillow or something. I looked down the side of the couch and under my butt to see if I sat in anything. Then I was about to check my shoes when I noticed little Lottie in the proccess of eliminating right next to my foot! If she had scooted back a few more centimeters, she would have pooped right on my foot!!! Crazy girl!!

Yesterday, in fact. I was sitting on the couch watching TV when I started smelling this horribly stron poopie smell. I was looking around to see if someone pooped on the couch, or something. Then I looked down to see a kitten in the middle of creating a nice juicy pile right by my foot!!! AAAaahhhhhhh!!!!!!! BLah Blah Blah!!!

Hello Feona!I think you are really very sensitive and nervous for that .Take it easy !Maybe the smell was not coming from your own house,but the other places where you still can smell it .I have experienced that things sometime ,but I did not feel worry and nervous about it .I hope you can take it easy .
