There are a lot of websites where they claim you can make thousands of dollars every month from home. All of them ask you to pay for e books, info, downloads, etc. Is there anybody here who is really making that kind of money or this this just a gimmick?

Hi Gobindsing,
Be very careful of those claims of thousands of dollars per month. There are some people out there who are making good money but the internet business is one that you have to take a long term attitude to make money. I have a few simple rules that I recommend to folks.
1. Plan on building a business slowly. Get into a low cost program with no monthly autoships and build that program to make a profit. Use those profits to lever youself into other paying programs.
2. Look for a business where you actually get a telephone call from the one who is promoting it. If you can't talk to a real person or get questions answered by email, stay away from it.
3. Use common sense in choosing an internet business. If it looks to good to be true, it probably is to good to be true. Some one is using a lot of hype. I would rather have some one tell me "I will show you how to make $300 a month within 6 months" than to tell me "I will show you how to make thousands of dollars a month". After all, who's going to believe the "thousands"?
4. Why do you think those downloads cost money? It's because that's how those people are making the money. I feel that the information I give away will either convince people or not. Sometimes I might ask for a small fee of less than $10.
5. Never buy those "One Time Offers" They are designed to make you think you have to have it. Try the free or low cost things first and then if you decide that you should have upgraded, cancel and sign up again under a new user name.
Hope this helps,

Dave makes a tremendous point:
"Look for a business where you actually get a telephone call from the one who is promoting it. If you can't talk to a real person or get questions answered by email, stay away from it."
If you cannot find a phone number link on the front page to contact the admin of the program, that may not a good sign. But is may be OK, if you can at least call your prospective sponsor in that program. Look for a phone number in the email or web page that sent you TO that program's page. Call that person BEFORE you join and ask some questions.
I always put my photo and phone number on all my web sites since I have no intention of hiding behind a web page.
