Dishwashers are not very common in India (though it is available).
So, I usually wash my dishes by hand.
But here we also have the concept of a help to do the dishes. So, I do have someone who comes in to help me do the dishes and the dirty work (if I may call it so):P

We call them maids too...but they aren't as expensive as the maids in the US...so mostly everyone has a maid here (rather a couple of families share a maid) unless there's more work to be done (with a baby in the family)...then we get a maid to help us out full-time.

We also have help in north america too. We call them maids. A lot of people just get them to come once a week. Generally its rich people who use this service. The rest of us have to do it for ourselves... unless they are like me and throw everything in the dishwasher!

We have a dishwasher that I use once i a whle, but I mostly wash dishes by hand. Our dishwasher is kind of old and not too energy efficeint so to save money I hand wash the dishes most days, even though I hate it. Sometimes my kids help with the dishes, but I mostly do them myself.

Hello hopejordan,
I wash the dishes manually. I don't have a dishwasher at home. Anyway, it is not a big deal for me as I love all kind of housechores *laughs* Sometimes when my husband feels free after dinner or when he thinks that I am not in a good mood, he will help me with the dishes.

I really don't have a choice either as I don't have a dishwasher. So I'm the dishwasher. LOL. It's really not that bad as I live alone now, so it's only me who dirties up the dish but of course I have my kitties dished to wash too. Mmmm. Wonder if I could train them to wash their own dishes. LOL

I do wash them in dishwasher and I am so glad to have one. It is just so much easier and it save so much time. when I was living in germany in one place i have one and I get so used to it and then when i moved to another place without one, it was terrbile. i mean specially when you have some friends over and just one sink to wash and don't have enough place for everything, where to rinse them, it can be difficult.

I hate washing the dishes but since i don't have a dishwasher no choice for me. And i don't think i'd ever plan to buy a dishwasher because electricity rate here in our country is expensive i might as well do the washing manually. But most of the time, since i live alone, i eat out so i don't have to deal with the dishes.

I have washed the dishes by hand twice in my house in the past 2 years. I do not wash dishes. My mom won't let me put some things in the dishwasher but when I lived on my own I put everything in there. Its such a boring task. I'm starting to do it out of necessity though.

I always have to do them by hand as we have never had a dishwasher. I'm sure it would be good to have one but then I'd still always be the one to put them all away!
My 8 year old son sometimes dries for me but I am always the one to wash because no one else will do it!

Here in Arizona, my husband and I have a disheasher, and at home in Canada we wash our dishes by hand. There are no hookups or a dishwasher in any of the apartments in the apartment building I live in, in Canada. The building is too old for those hookups.

We do not have a dishwasher. In India its a novelty - 99% of the households doesn't have one! So hands work best for us.
I seldom do it though. We have maid servants who does it for us. And this is another thing that comes cheap in our country.
Thanks.
