I am also using broadband connection. but the download speed changing time to time. my highest download speed is 160kbps. usually I am getting 60-70 kbps. but sometimes it fall bellow 10kbps. I think its depend on the traffic and the bandwidth of the web server from with you download.

He, he, he:P There's a catch with all connection speeds our providers tell us we have. I'm talking about Kb/KB difference. I have 1Mb connection, just like you. So some might think they should downoad things with 1 Megabyte speed. But Mb stands for Megabit not Megabyte so you have to divide the speed in 8 (1byte=8bits). Now, knowing that 1MB=1024kB you can see that the maximum download speed is actually 128KB. And this is my highest download. Well, sometimes I see higher numbers but thats just because some data is buffored before certain downloading programs count the speed;)

My connection is through Reliance wireless USB modem, and the highest download speed is just 80 kbps. I think the download speed varies with respect to plan that I choose. the more i pay, more speed i'll get. my connection plan is "freedom @ night". i have fully free net connection between 10pm and 6 am (both in IST) and the monthly rental is INR 400/-.
