Do you consider killing small insects as murder?

I would hate to sound discriminatory here, but it depends on the nature of the beast! I have a rule of thumb I hate killing creatures UNLESS they are the following:
wasps
flies
woodlouse
cockroaches
moths
ants
They are the only things I will kill! And I don't class them as murder, as they are pests, vermin and a menace!

Oh yeah mosquitoes too! As they spread diseases, as do flies!

Bala, Can we afford to spare the deadly anopheles or aedes aegypti mosquitoes to suck out our blod and leave behind their deadly mark and subsequent malaria chicken gunia?

I don't believe any creature should be killed just because they exist. I understand nature and the hunter/prey thing, but I don't like to kill anything. Now I'm not saying I haven't. I have fly traps. But I really prefer to ignore them and not see the suffering I cause with them. But when there are just way too many flies, and I can't get them to go out, I have to use traps. I will never squash anything! That, to me, is the worst way to die.

first you must realise that this world is filled with microscopic insects and bacteria. These are God's living creatures just the same as an elephant is God's living creature. So where do you draw the line? What size of creature can you kill without it being murder. If I step on a tiny creature so small I didn't see it, is this murder? My hands are covered with microscopic bacteria and I wash with anti-bacterial soap. Is this murder? If not why not? Each one of these creatures are part of God's kingdom. These questions need to be researched and answered before we get carried away with murdering small insects!

Killing does not always equal murder and i don't really think of killing insects as murder, i'll often kill any cockroaches and spiders i come across, and any bug that enters my room.
When i was a kid i used to kill ants for fun, now not so much, except when i see a long line of ants or a bunch of ants concentrated in a spot i like to stomp on them :3 i don't know why, i can never resist from doing that.

personally i don't think so.
i kill ants all the time. especially when i see them swarming around my table if I mistakenly left some drink out for too long. i realised that in cold climates, leaving sweet drinks out is not a problem. no insects are attracted.
i also kill cockroaches, which are not really small insects.

Hi & Hello my friend Balasri.
Killing an insect is not necessarily a murder. But a murderer is a killer. Once called for protection with good purpose, killing will be no longer consider as murder. That is one of the difference between killer and murderer.

I'd have to give that more thought.
I can not kill an insect. In a case I find out I killed one by accident, I feel very bad and guilty. I don't think we should kill unless we have a need to (such as perhaps it will attack us). However, I know we must kill many tiny things (we can't see, unintentionally).
But if we ourselves do not do anything bad to another, we should not be killed.

Yeah it is! But it depends upon the kind of insect that i kill. I am a nature lover so killing live creature is murder. But when i am bitten by a mosquito, i dont hesitate to slap and kill this tiny insect. I don't care if i become a murderer. But in fairness to other insects, i let them live, if they also want me to live. Thanks
