At a dinner table of one of a well known millionaire who had done much for the underpriviledge, discussion turned upon the value of prayer. The millionaire said he did not believe in prayers. He had got everything he had wished for,so he felt there was no need for him to pray for any favours. The Principal of a well-known school happened to be present there, said,"There is one thing that you might pray for." "What is that?"asked the rich man. "You might pray for humility." My dear friends,what-ever our possessions,we shall be all the happier if we pray for the humble spirit which can thank God for his mercies towards us.What are your views?

First my reactions: Thank you for posting this. I'm really glad I had time to stop in here today before classes to read this. My views: This is a message I wholeheartedly agree with. Thank you for reminding me how arrogant I can be sometimes. Also, no matter what religious beliefs people may or may not have, this is still a good message for everyone.

Sorry about the big gap. I'm on hubby's computer and the enter key sticks. I didn't think to delete the space.

Yes, I agree because even if people are rich, they still should remain humble. People usually listen to those with power and those who can inspire us. We need to be thankful for all our blessings.

The rich man may be destined to eat his words in the future. All people need God, they need someone bigger than themselves.

It sounds as if at a dinner table there was also food for thought. I think I would have told him that he was the answer to other people's prayers in their time of need, and so he should believe in himself.

God does not need our prayers, we are asked to pray to develop our character and learn some virtues such as gratefulness, humility etc. So the next time you pray, do it for your own good and not to oblige God.

Hi tuhpaul. Don't worry when people like that and said like that, you can put a 'tick' mark in the next three (3) years normally that particular person will "plummet" and another long years to regain their laurel. And will learn how to make pray. Human being behavior is constant and history has proven the flows and activity. World never fails to give us lessons but we always negotiate the goodness from the world wrongly. HAPPY DAPPY.
