An elderly lady in my neighbourhood wanted a domestic helper and asked me if I could help by sending a trustworthy person who would look after her house.I did manage to send one to her house. This is what happened:
"I want a man to do odd jobs about the house, run on errands, one who never answers back and is always ready to do my biddings,"explained the lady to the person I sent for the job in the household.
"You're looking for a husband,ma'am,not a servant!"replied the man and walked down the steps.
Is this the job of an ideal husband?

Hello tuhpaul. Thanks for this interesting discussion. I think that this woman must be wealthy and doesn't show much respect to others, let alone her servant or husband. I could tell from the dialogue mentioned above. She would have some difficulties in getting someone like that. Anyway you are so nice and helpful a person to help her find someone.

Actually that does sound like what my wife wants me to do. Not that I am good at it. I talk back a lot, and can go whole weeks without noticing dust and the floor. In my defense, I do clean out the litter boxes, wash the dishes, and take out the trash in a timely fashion.
I will have to show this one to my wife--though she might think that it is just me talking back. LOL.

Hi tuhpaul.
Actually what a good true life comedy story from you for today. I think that chap was right putting up his answer that particular way. Justly nice for that parsimony lady. A good life story to read and nice lesson to have.
HAPPY DAPPY.

Is this true or is it a joke! But of course there are some women who think of their husbands as nothing more than a servant (just as most men think of their wives). Actually we are so used to see the man being the master of the house and treating the wife as the submissive species, that any kind of aberration raises our eyebrows. Ideally for me, husband and wife should treat each other as equal partners & friends (just like the two wheels of a bicycle).
