This is one of my new, addicting hobbies. I am aware that it sounds silly. How i got into catching flies? My grandparents have a mini farm and one day I caught a fly and fed it to a chicken. That chicken followed me 5 minutes afterwards, wanting another fly. Catching flies should not be looked down upon. It is actually an art. You have to know how to catch the fly. When the fly is 'sitting' on a flat surface, place you hand with the thumb pointing at you and the tip of the fingers pointing ahead of you, behind the fly. The palm should face the fly. With a quick move, move your hand towards the fly, making a fist when you feel you're where the fly is. You should have the fly in your fist and the fly should be alive. It's a rather fun thing to do, as long as you're not cruel about it.

haha, that reminds me of when my brother and I were young! we used to catch flies, stun them and attach them to a piece of hair. When it woke up we would let it fly around and it would be like we were walking it on a leish. I know... a bit cruel but kids love that stuff!

The last time I heard anyone describe how to catch a fly was when I was a sophomore in high school, during the teach someone to do something session. I have caught a fly a few times since then but had forgotten the basics. And I do enjoy it. Thanks for the information.
