Oprah - Spouse Rapping

I just watched an Oprah show today where she discussed when husbands rape there wifes. She had two females on there that had been badly rapped by there husbands. I almost cried it was so awful. But Oprah brought up the point that most women didnt know that they could actually be rapped by there husbands (as was the case for these women at first). She kept stressing, "rape is rape" regardless if it is your spouse. Apparently a lot of the audience didnt know that. It was only about a decade ago that all US states made it a law that if your spouse rapes youit's illegal. That just seems so caveman like and appaling to me. I just had to share this point.
