Counterfeit notes seized in Tamil Nadu,three arrested

The CB CID police have seized counterfeit notes with a face value of Rs 2.5 lakh and arrested a three member gang from Villupuram,allegedly involved in printing the notes. Based on information,a special team raided a house near Villupuram recently where they found the gang printing the notes, Bhavaneswari,Superintendent of Police, CB CID, told reporters here on Thursday,Nov 15,2007. Nearly 800 numbers of counterfeit notes in denominations of of Rs 1,000,Rs 500, Rs 100 and Rs 20 were seized from them, she said. The three persons have been remanded to judicial custody.Printing equipment and xerox machines were also seized in the raid, she added.
