Here we go again folks. It was reported on the ABC Evening News that there is now a cold virus that is killing people. It has turned up in at least 4 states and is responsible for the deaths of 10 people. I really would like to know what is going on. Do you think that germs are turning on us or maybe some of these deadly viruses are being spread on purpose?

I do not blame you or any one for being afraid of all the medical news about these Viruses that is coming out of the news media. Viruses keep mutating and changing like any other life form to survive. The ony difference is that now the news spreads as fast as it can because of the technology. And I hope the same technology will help scientists to find cures for these changing virus and bacteria.
We have to do our part and do basic things like cleaning /washing our hands etc.

Perfect statement. We do hear things faster and faster now. It is a good hope for science and technology. It applies whether infections are caused by viruses or bacteria.

On the contrary, Snow, I am not afraid of the medical news. I welcome being informed about what is out there. Many people are thinking in just the way they want them to think. Anything can be identified as normal when, in fact, it's not normal at all.

It certainly makes you wonder doesn't it! I'm having a very hard time believing that all of these things could be just flukes of nature or honest mistakes. I'm not going to claim terrorists just yet but I do think someone or several someones knows what is really going on.

And the term terrorists can refer to people right here not just ones from other countries.

Like I stated before, foxyfire, it doesn't have to be terrorists when we have people right here in our society who are working toward reducing the population by millions.

You might be thinking of the MRSA staph infection, carolbee. This is something newer. I think it will kill many people because not many will go to the doctor if they have cold symptoms.

It's my belief there is something decidely fishy going on. Look at the millions spent on research but we are becoming sicker. The incidence of cancer is increasing in spite of all the money spent.
Think of this...what would happen, if when we went to the doctor, we became well? I mean all of us, cured, no longer sick or ill. How strange that would be. But there would be very little work for doctors, nurses, hospitals and the big one....the pharmeceutical companies. Oops, that can't happen now can it? Oh no.

Very true, Ms Tickle. They are always raising money for research, but the diseases just keep getting stranger and more resistant. I try to stay away from doctors as much as possible, LOL.

It could be a Terrorist thing, but I would think they would look for bigger numbers of affected. Its probably just evolution at work. Its an arms race between viruses and bacteria's offense and the human bodies defense or immune system. Sometimes we win, like getting rid of smallpox or polio, sometimes the virus/bacterium wins, like the black plague or TB before anti-biotics.

You must take into consideration, Aurone, how rapidly a cold can be spread. That makes all the difference. A simple cough in a crowded room can infect many of the people there. I would think that this is an excellent way to spread a virus. I don't think all of these things happening all of a sudden are coincidence. I don't believe in coincidence.

Yes, livingforthelord, it's rather hard to keep the faith when so many bad things continue to crop up seemingly out of nowhere.

I am not sure that this is just germs turning on us. I am beginning to think that it is a way to get to us. Not sure if it is the government or a terrorist thing, but it is really strange. With all the things that have been happening, it sure seems to be pointing that way.

There is an agenda out there, Thoroughrob, to drastically reduce the world's population within the next twenty years. The powerful people who support this agenda will do whatever it takes to accomplish this.

Well I think there are all sorts of reasons for it
I mean the Air is not as clean anymore as it used to be so much Chemical about and I do not just mean from the Cars and that
Chemicals being sprayed on growing Vegetables and Fruit
It can be anything really and yes the Possibility that it is being done on purpose as well

I'm real big on conspiracy theories, gabs, and I had most of the trust in human nature knocked out of me a long time ago.

I really do hope that this is not something that someone spread on purpose. My BF dad is down sick right now and has been for a few days and one of our neighbors is down with flu like syptoms also. I just keep to myself and away from them til they are better so I dont get it. I am not sure that they have whatever this deadly viruses are. HUGS!

I don't think it's either of those. For a long time every little thing has been treated with antibiotics right away and for a long time it worked. The down side to that is....your bodys natural defenses become weaker the more antibiotics you take....because they do not only destroy the bad ones...but also the the good ones that take care of a lot of things before you even know there was a problem to begin with.
The other thing is.....viruses become immune against...or at leat more resistant to the treatment with antibiotics.
That's been a known fact for quiet some time.....but people just tend to ignore that.
Today we find it almost unimaginable that something as simple as a cold could kill someone....but that's just natures way of weeding out.I know that sounds harsh....but think about it....if it wasn't for desease or even natural disasters that kill 100's if not 1000's of people....the world would be even more over populated than it already is.
Given the fact that we are the only mamal that will continue to reproduce under any circumstances....I would say mother nature is fighting a loosing battle and essentialy we are putting ourselfs on the endangerd list.
Wich is kind of ironic....since we are supposed to be most evolved of all living things.....but yet we are steadily working torward destroying ourselfs and the world we live in.

I think you're wrong, winky, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. If the doctors(who are supposed to be much smarter than average) did not forsee this, surely someone smarter than they are should have.

It's really easy to get a bit paranoid these days, isn't it Worldwise1? I find myself thinking about this every time there's a new "super bug" going around. God knows some deadly germ in the wrong hands would be catastrophic to say the least and it's really not that much of a reach to think it could actually happen. I worry most about my mom who will soon turn 91, my grandkids and my daughter who has Crohn's which is a disease that affects the immune system so she has to be extra careful to begin with. I guess we all have to be extra careful about where we go and we'll have to be very diligent about washing our hands constantly - a habit I've gotten into anyway because of the MRSA problem.

I don't believe that I'm paranoid at all, anniepa. Too many people choose to walk around with their heads in the clouds rather than look at things realistically. I don't happen to be one of them. I've learned to expect the unexpected. If you want to believe that simply washing your hands will save you from all the dark uglies out there, it's your choice.

I heard this on the news this morning too. Just about everyone I know has a cold. My daughter went to the doctor and got medications so she's already feeling better, my son didn't go to the doctor because it's like pulling teeth to get him to go but he's also feeling a little better but his fiance has been in bed and says as soon as she feels good enough to get up she will go. At this time she is the one I'm worrying about since she seems to have it worse than my kids do. I often wonder if there som consipiracy that we don't know about when things things happen. Could it be another indirect terrorist attack?

It doesn't even have to be a terrorist attack, ctry, because there are people among us who want to get rid of as many people as possible.

I think the worst is yet to come, 3lilangels. I also believe that we are being attacked from several different angles.

I think God is in control of all of this and all we can do is stay close to him. I feel that humans think they really have a lot of control over this, and it's simply not true. We've already messed up our immune systems by using antibiotics recklessly. I can't say that I feel they are being spread on purpose, because that sounds pretty paranoid to me.
