How many times your computer attacked by computer virus. How it affect you. what you are doing now to prevent it. I had faced computer virus 3 times. First time its from a site. that time I am a newcomer in this field and I purchased My computer few days ago and I didnt install any antivirus. then I had to format my computer and I installed a good antivirus. The second time its from a email which seemed to send by my friend but it was not and his computer was also infected. The reason was even though I installed anti virus I didnt update that. That time also I lost all my information in my hard disk but I had some backup copy of important files because I had a virus attack before. third times it affected from yahoo messenger. but my antivirus able to delete the virus and I have a registry mechanic software. With that I can completely remove it. Now I am cautious about website i didnt know emails and instant messages. I also updating my anti virus regularly to prevent infection.

In 2004 I bought my first computer. I was ignorant then so I connected it to the Internet without any antivirus software. Witin a few months we were hit by a worm that would suddenly shut down the computer while you're working! I tried to ignore it and it got worse. Soon the computer was already hanging all the time. By the time I sought professional help, the hard disk was already badly damaged. We couldn't reformat anymore. We had to replace the hard disk, which cost me a lot of money. It was a learning experience for me because since then I would always make sure to install antivirus software. I've been using McAfee and never had a serious problem since then.

It's been awhile. The last time we had any kind of problem was back in February, when two top-level DNS servers were brought to their knees with DDoS attacks. We were using NetVeda's Safety.Net firewall at the time, at it wasn't able to recognize and block the ricochetting attacks. So I replaced Safety.Net with Kerio on one machine, and BlackICE on another. It wasn't anything threatening to our data; it was just really annoying to keep going offline and having to reset TCP/IP. I don't use antivirus or antispyware in Windows (except during weekly scanning). I use Windows Firewall, and lock down the kernel and registry to prevent infection: http://invincible-windows.blogspot.com/ I have avast! Antivirus installed on my Ubuntu Linux partition, and run a quick scan once a day. So far, nothing has turned up. But there's not as much Linux malware as there is Windows malware, and I choose not to assume that running and hiding from trouble is enough. I'm a bit more proactive than that. ;)

My computer I think was attacked by virus more than a thousand times. Almost everyday I got infected by different virus because of those people who printed their files in my computer (I have this printing business thats why ^^). What I did I installed different anti-virus because some anti-virus cant detect some specific kind of virus while others can. This happens because the update for detection for that virus is not yet available but in later time it will be detected.

Why don't you install DeepFreeze or Returnil Virtual System on your machine? This way, all changes to Disk C: would be erased upon reboot.

Computer virus can be on any site and can also be from any e-mail so, we have to be very catious about virus. We don't know from which site or on which kind of site it will contain the virus but we must have to know something about files. Many a times when we look for downloading softwares we mill come across some 'exe' files which will be of few kbs but the fact is that exe files are usually big so, never download those files. Once u download and install it than your system will crash after few days or hours. Don't download any attachments from any e-mails untill and unless you know from whom it has been sent to you and what the file will be containing. I am also not very good in computer but these are the few problems that i have experienced and learnt so far. Hope it will help you in some way. Happy mylotting.

I have had a computer for the last 7 years (changed it once a couple of years ago). The new one hasnt been affected by viruses as yet. Only small infections surfaced a few months back, which were easy to get rid off. But I remember that my previous computer suffered real bad at the hands of a major infection. It was probably from one of the sites, and it spread like an epidemic. When I got a virus check done, it reported upto 400 infections in the windows drive :P Only God knows how it was still running then!! Needless to say, it needed an immediate system re-format, and since then I have been very careful regarding the security of my machine.

computers are subject to be attacked by virus especially if you are fond of downloading executable files. But as for me, since i have a resident antivirus in my system, i seldom caught some in my computer. And besides before it can harm my computer, the antivirus alarm me so i cna scan it at once. Thanks

It has happen a couple times when I first started with computers, but now since I'm so much into computers I haven't had a virus in more than a year and a half maybe even more. Just get a good antivirus like Avast! and a firewall like Zonealarm for example and just use your senses when on the computer, this should help you not get any for a good while.

It is inevitable that a computer will get a virus, worm, spyware, and/or adware. The trick is to keep updating your security and back up your files every now and then. And i recommend you don't keep personal files on your comp. Like back account numbers with password, credit card numbers, etc. it can be pentrated and stolen.

15 years ago while I was still a novice my PC was often infected by Virus. As I progressed, I knew how to take care of my PC and ever since, my computer is not once infected by it.

I've been real fortunate that I've only had a problem once over the years. I installed Spybot and Lavasoft and they both seem to catch any problems.

Hi,there! Actually it's very common that our computers are attacked by viruses these days cause there're more and more viruses nowadays.Let me see,my computer has been attacked for four or five times. In order to prevent from that,I always install antivirus softwares before anything else.I do scan my system once or twice a week so that I can make sure my computer is in a healthy state. Because once the computer's affected by viruses,it's pretty complicated to recover everything. So I'm more careful about that now. Thanks for the discussion!
