It would be better, but I don't expect everyone to do it. The important thing is, the essence of discusison keeps on flowing and that there are reasons why one should comment on it.
The important thing for me is, that the threadhost/topic starter does read the responses they receive and would provide detailed feedbacks by commenting..

Honestly, I do not expect my comments to be replied as there are times where a discussion received too many comments that the owner would not have the time or energy to respond to all comments. to me, we should understand that we left comment at our own will and we should not expect too much out of it.

Well, i sure do... it would be proof that those members actually care if they get responses to the discussion that they start... it will also show that they are sincere in a way that the started that discussion because they wanted advice or they want genuine answers to a particular question that they ask...
I admire those members who comment on responses even though the response are like months old...
I myself try to comment on all the responses to my discussion... but sometimes, i just choose to do that on the serious and quite long ones...

Yeah sometimes I expect that sometimes not. It just really depend on what kinda discussion is it what kind of person. Sometimes we just make a one comment and you fell liek everything have been said, but something you can post 10 comments with person and you have stil something to tell her or to add. I am not upset if someone don't comment my response I believe there is sometimes nothing to add.

hi, when i start a discussion, i want there will be someone respond to it. but when i respond to other people's discussion, i dont hope other people to feedback to me so much. maybe it is better if the person who started the discussion give us feedbacks, but you know everyone has limited time. i add comments to some of my responses when i find that i must do that or when i can not agree with some opinions.

Thanks for your quick response. And I'm sorry that I replied so late. Just as what you said, sometimes though we want to give feebacks to the comments about our discussions,we don't always have enough time to do that. Thanks for your understanding and I'll try to afford some time to reply:)

When I respond to a discussion, I'm not really expecting any feedback, but it is nice to get some sort of a response from the person who started it, especially if they're looking for advice, as it's nice to know whether or not they appreciate your comments, and if they found what you had to say helpful or not. I always check back on discussions, just in case!
