It would have to be very carefully controlled if it were to become legal. There are cases where people have requested that someone else kill them because of the pain they're in or a physical disabilty that keeps them from taking their own life. Even in those cases, though, could you do it not knowing if you were doing the right thing?
I know that if I became a vegetable like some people, I would hate to be a burden on others. I think if there was ever no hope for me I might well want to leave the world.

In the extreme cases, yes I think we should be allowed to do a mercy killing. But, if it was only legal for the extreme cases there would be such a controversy over what would be classified as "Extreme".

of course...i do remember that....but still i require time to choose....by the way thx for yr reply and totally agree with u that its a difficult task to define an extreme case....though we can start it by making some guidelines....we all have resolved so much issuses which were worser than this....and for medical proffession it should not be that much difficult to define these cases...

Yes I believe it should be legal, I mean we do it for animals right? Why not do it for humans too, but we couldn't abuse it, it could only be in severe cases, I mean who wants to feel that pain and suffering?
Who wants to see someone they love go through that pain and suffering? I am all for it.
