Do you use a planner/calendar to help you with your day?

I use a calendar to remember important appointments and events, but for daily tasks, I just make a list. Most of what I do is not time sensitive, since I am a sahm. I have things that need to be done, but I can do them on my own time, for the most part. So a list works well for me. I have daily and weekly lists, and I cross things off as I go in an attempt to stay organized. It doesn't always work though, because some days I don't cross enough things off my list, which leaves too much for the next day.

I write all my daily plans in my Filofax. It has set of diary pages that take me from 2007 to 2008. I find it quite easy to follow because I am usually quite clear about my personal day.
When I am teaching I write in my termly planner. I have long term planning covering a whole term, short term planning covering a week at a time and daily planning that covers each separate day. Often my plans change and so I have to be clear in order not to get confused with the many changes made.
On my wall at home I have a calendar with beautiful travel scenes on it. This month has a photo of a stunning looking beach in French Polynesia. I use this calendar to get a good idea of the days of the month. Friday is recycling day for example.

I wouldn't remember where to go if I didn't have the big "family" calandar on the wall! With busy schedules this is how we keep track of who is doing what, when and where. I'd be lost without it!! I also have a smalll day planner that I keep track of business things like appointments and commissions for policies I've sold.

Now that i'm a SAHM we have a 'family' calendar that is hung by the kitchen with all the family appointments or reminders, along with having a desk and portable calendar with me for MY things and the family things - just to make sure they don't get overlooked. I have all of these things and our baby is ONLY 1 year old! Can you imagine how it's going to be when he's a teenager???

I use a large spiral notebook with everything written in it. I go through about a month ahead or more and write when all bills are due. I put everything I need to do on a daily basis. Then I continually add to it thru the days of things I remember that I 'd like to see done. I love getting to mark things off as done! It gives me a sense of accomplishment. Then when I go back at the end of the day, I have done way more than I ever realized I had done. It is a good feeling!
