My daughers boyfriend has been having black outs. Last week he blacked out on the way to work and had an accident. Luckily no one was hurt seriously. He has been to several doctors and they haven't offered any answers to why this is happening. Has anyone here had this happen to them or know someone it happened to? If so, do they know the cause? Thanks for any info on this.

Hi lizabeth.. I hv experienced black out twice but tht was during my pregnancy. I wld experience cold sweat first then slowly I see only darkness. Total darkness with my eyes still open. My black out is due to hunger. But it only happens during pregnancy. Does not happen when M not pregnant.
Black outs usually happens when there is lack of Oxygen going to the brain. 1 of the cause cld be Atherosclerosis- hardening of the blood vessels. In your daughter's bf case, it cld be a very tiny blood vessel which CAT in unable to detect.

I know someone blackouts the same way you daughter's BF does. She was diagnosed to have Narcolepsy which explained why she felt just like falling asleep. I don't think she was given medication for that condition though. Hope that helps!
