i owned a bmw 318 from 1985 (785 kg 247 pk topspeed driven 259 kpm it could do more but i got scared) i got to say it's a GREAT car but running costs and maintanance are high not to mention that it only runs on a fuel that is not sold anymore (octaan 98 leaded) but damn that car runs fast 0-100 in less then 4,3 sec topspeed ( some crazy friend told me he got it up to 262 kmh) had to sell it (loss of job sniff) one thing is true bmw's are like trains no mather what the speed is if you want to go left the go left and if you want to go right they go to the right it's like running on track's ;)

i have a BMW 2002 reg now and i love my car. it is a 3 series one

I have owned several and my wife currently owns one as well as my son. They are reliable, sporty, dependable cars. I have performed a lot of repiars myself -- which is pretty straight forward as long as you have the proper tools and knowledge. I have my eye on a 98 MZ3. I like the bodystyle and I am intimately familiar with the mechanics of that particular model. Besides -- my wife has a 97 M3 and I really want to race her.
