The Won't Pay For List

Associated Content doesn't seem to have a set list for people to go by, so that they will no what will not get paid for. People tend to get angry after they spend time on something and then get told the site doesn't pay for that anymore. So I figure we could start a list here for people to be in the know. This is all in regards to upfront payment, they will pay performance for basically anything. (of course it may be noted that there may be exceptions in certain circumstances) 1. They do not pay for website reviews 2. They do not pay for movie reviews, unless it is a sneak peek; you saw it prior to theatrical release. 3. They do not pay for interviews that are not exclusives. (though they did pay for my last one that was like that)

They also do not pay for poems, short stories, or movie and television star bio's. I do love their site though and will figure it all out eventually. :)

you are correct. AC will only pay for articles that are written by people in North America. I believe that if you are from outside of that area that you can still write for the site, but you will not get paid for it. There is a site that is called helium.com that I believe you can write for if you are from another country. Good luck.

If you're outside the U.S. you can't be paid upfront, but you can still write for pageviews and be paid for those. Of course, that's only worthwhile if you're a very good writer, churn out tons of articles, and are good at promoting them. So, for most people, AC isn't really worth it if you're looking to earn a decent amount of money.

Yes, I know these are some of the ones that AC does not pay for. What I have learned though over my time there, is that some of the time, if you just change your Wording a little bit, or change your title around some, sometimes something they reject for payment the first time sometimes will give you money the next time. So I guess sometimes there is no real rule except for Trial and error sometimes and hope for the best.

Looks like people need to read the submission guidelines before they submit! They shouldn't get angry if they can't bother to read the rules! I don't have anything to add to your list, but I hope it helps others.

They do not pay for any reviews that are not SNEAK PEEK sorts..so if you can review a book before it even comes out in print then they may pay for it if it is interesting....other than that no tends to be the answer

I didn't know they paid for book reviews. Does that include upfront payment as well. IF so then I have loads to write. I hope you get back to me ASAP.

They reject articles that are recipes as well. Even if the recipes are part of an artical they tend to reject it.
