WARNING: Do Not read if you are sensitive about animal abuse, this is graphic....
I haven't found a news link to it yet but here's what is going on locally....Today the bodies of two roughly 1 year old dogs were found lying along side the road. There were holes in the bodies that appeared to be bullet holes and the dogs had been SKINNED before being dumped. This is the second time this has happened recently. Last week the bodies of three dogs were found by a creek near a bridge in the same manner...killed and skinned. That time the dogs appeared to be a mother dog and two puppies.
How could someone be so sick? What could they possibly be doing with the skins? The person or people responsible have not been caught yet but what punishment do you think they deserve? What other thoughts do you have about this?

Funny that I should just be reading your post when it came on the news, it happened in PA, the humane society and the state troopers are both involved in the case. If found, the person responsible will be looking at jail time. There is one fact about these and other types of crimes, the criminal mind is not that smart, and they will make a mistake that will lead to them being arrested.

Yes it is! I take it you're from the area too? I hope they make a mistake and get themselves caught.

I live in a different county from where it happened also. With so many people from all over the world here, anyone who watches the same local news seems "in the area" lol.

Well I do live in PA, but not in that immediate area where this took place. They already made a mistake (or maybe they want to get caught) by dumping these dogs close to a road and in an area where people have dumped other animal carcasses like deer.

OMG! That is just...disturbing, and I don't even think that word does this act justice. I sure hope the police are putting an effort into finding out who the culprit is. You see so many stories about psychopaths that started out torturing and mutilating animals. It takes someone with no value for life at all to do this, and I hope they are caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law!!

You're right "disturbing" doesn't even do it justice. The story has been on the news several times every day since the first dogs were found so I can only assume they are doing what they can to find whoever did this. It's hard because they can't really tell what breed the dogs were other than "long nosed" and their sizes. I think a person would have to be a psychopath to do something like this...let's just hope he never gets the chance to move on to people.

I own a dog, so close to me and I would not even think of kicking it. They are so cute and intelligent, but I guess this world is full of so many deranged people, so many psychopaths, that I am mildly surprised at what they did. But I am for the best punishment that can be given to them.

Let's hope for the best (or worst depending on how you look at it!) in terms of punishment for this person. I only kicked a dog once and that was because it was fighting with a stray cat...I was aiming for the cat.

That's mental! Who could be doing such awful stuff...I wouldn't have the courage to kill a dog and yet that person even skinned them. What would that person do to the skins he/she had caught? It's a real mystery to me...Maybe, it's a cult who uses dog skins in their rituals? But, this just happened recently so maybe not. I hope that the culprit will be caught soon. Take good care of yor dogs and don't let them walk all alone.

It's hard to tell but they believe the dogs are all the same breed. So it could very well be something to do with their specific coloring/makings. Luckily we live in a seperate county so it's not that close to us yet.

Well I agree with that it was really sick. I am not very much animal lover, but I love dogs very much and I agree that animals should not be treated that way. That was really insane. I wonder what the officials would do about that, but I believe that they should have to do something.

I'm not even a huge fan of dogs but this really bothered me. Another responder said they had heard there would definitely be jail time for whoever did this if they can catch them.

that is sick wondering if someone is trying to make something with the pelts who knows I have heard of making yarn from dog fur

Sure but they could just shave the dogs for the fur, no need to kill and skin them. Interesting idea about the pelts though!

Luckily I don't actually li close to where this is happening, I'm in a different county. We're rural enough that the local news covers a large portion of the state. It ispretty scary to think about why this person is doing this stuff and what could be next.

I say an Eye 4 and Eye.. But then I think our animal cruelty laws suck..I don't know how you could live with yourself if you were that cruel, to me they must have some mental issue because that is just wrong.so much pain in this world sickens me.

Sometimes I wish the world did still live by the eye for an eye rule. I think it would be a lot safer for the 4 legged critters and the 2 legged ones.

I'm with you foxyfire. How do people live with themselves after doing something like this? I think that the penalties for animal cruelty are not harsh enough. Maybe if the penalties were greater, animal cruelty would be less.

Some people are already worried that they won't be able to charge this person with enough things for jail time and fines just aren't enough punishment for something like this.
