...Usually, when a pet begins to soil in a place they normally would not, they are trying to tell you something is wrong. They maybe ill. This is typical behavior of a cat with urinary tract problems. It could be crystalizing urine or a bladder infection. ...Take the cat to the vets, ASAP. ...To remove the odor, my favorite product is made by Bissell and is called pet odor and soil removal formula. There are other products that are made to do the same thing. ...Good luck with this and peace be with you. =(^;^)= Della

...Can you put aluminum foil down where he goes? They do not like the sound or feel of it.

I don't know. Weve had a similar problem. My poor kitty . we had the litter box upstairs because she wasn't allowed downstairs at first because she was so tiny. Now we moved the litter box downsstairs. So now she's all confused and is going in boxes near where the litter box was. We moved the boxes so today she went in the corner. She looked really upset and confused.

...May I ask if you took her to her litter box? Does she know where you moved it? ...You may have to watch her and take her to her box when she is lloking for a place to go. ..,Good luck and peace be with you. =(^;^)= Della

Yes she was meowing but she was hiding behind something and I couldn't tell where she was. I found after by the smell. I brought her downstairs to the litter box after and put her in it. I sprayed disenfectant spray on where the poop was. She got really confused by that.

I have a few litter boxes in my house, but usually my cats only use them in the winter, in nice weather they always go outside... very nice to only have to clean out a litter box for a few months a year! Anyway, at one time all 4 of the little buggers started pooping behind the TV. I don't know why they started doing that, but I do know what stopped them from doing it! I moved the TV to another spot and cleaned and disinfected the entire area (they had been going there for months before I discovered where the smell was coming from!) Then I started feeding them there because I had read somewhere that a cat will not sh!t where it eats. My sister also had a problem with her new kitty pooping in all the wrong places... she used that method as well and solved her problem with too.

Well, we have the same problem and we can't seem to find a way to get it taken care of. I didn't know pepper was an option...but yea know anyway. Oh, umm, try shampooing the carpets....that was one thing helped, but you have to shampoo them every other month.
