I personally subscribe to the 1 month rule. 1 month before the holiday is when the decorations should go up, at least in homes. Communities I accept earlier because there's often a lot of planning and work that needs to go into it. Stores... well... I don't mind craft and hobby stores having supplies for various holiday crafts several months early because holiday crafts are how a lot of crafters make their living. They need time to be able to make said crafts. Having 4 aisles in the store of Christmas stuff before Halloween has passed irritates me to no end, though.

I'm with you. It's not even about the consumerism aspect of it. It just seems to dilute the whole experience when done too early.
Thanks for your comment.

I absolutely hate that, especially in stores. It seemed like the day after Halloween they put the Xmas decorations up. I didn't even see any Thanksgiving decorations. I feel like they're trying to rush my life away. I don't decorate for the holidays but if I did I'd only do it at the earliest a week before the actual holiday.

I believe there is no early decoration as much as no other occassion coming before the decoration purpose, right? we can take our time to do it professionally..or either ways..

Anytime before Thanksgiving is too soon in my opinion, and I don't think I'm alone there.
