how do you inform your friends about your supposed abscence? :)

there's always a time when one needs to take a break from sites like mylot. reason could be anything from busy-ness to feeling bored with the place;) recently i am experiencing both of things.. first i need to focus on some personal issues and secondly, after almost 1 year spend here i feel kind of monotony on mylot. then i think it is not necessary to say that i am taking many little breaks from mylot from time to time.;)but issue here is that should one inform each and everyone of his/her friends before s/he decided to take a break? do you find it necessary to pre-inform your friends about your abscence? or you just rely on their common sense?;) as for me i am really confused about that so i just sit quiet and do nothing but then i suddenly felt that it could be considered rude;) so, how do you take care of that?

I have yet to take a break, since I started here. I agree with you that break helps in overcoming monotony. But I feel, it is better to inform your friends that you would be away from mylot for few days ....it can be done through starting a new discussion else you can send a short PM to your close friends here. But I think, it is better to inform friends about your absence, so they should not break their heads that where have you disappeared. If you do so, it would be appreciated by your friends, if you do not do so...you cannot be termed as rude.

I agree with your views...it would be better to send PMs to close friends here about our likely absence.

I think if I were to plan on being gone for a week or more then I would give advanced notice. They don't need to know the details why just a quick "Hey I have stuff to take care of, be back in a week or so". If it's just a day or a few days I assume common sense will take over. I would think that everybody gets busy or sidetracked for a few days every once in awhile and no one would really think twice if I disappeared for a few days.

well see i have been really busy, but i have been busy without knowing before hand that i was going to get busy, so i couldnt exactly give notice, like if i was going on a holiday i would tell people that im going, but if its just problems etc, then maybe u could say yeh im just got some stuff needs done etc etc, but like i really wouldnt be to worried about it.

I have done that, but if I were I would just PM the friends that always respond to my discussions and the ones I consider to be close..

Unless I'm going to be gone for a long time I don't think it's necessary for me to let everyone know about it. I'm sure especially around the holidays everyone knows we're busy and don't have as much time as usual to put in on our pc's.

Hello my dear friend, I wish you a very happy new year.:-)) I think I would do the same, start a discussion like this and quit myLot for the time being. It's not a very wise idea to message each one of our friends. As in real life, we do not have 4 or 5 or 10 friends here to inform, the list is just too long amd moreover we don't know who are all active and who are not. So, I will just inform the close ones privately in case they are away from myLot while I'm taking a break and for the rest the discussion will do. I don't consider it to be rude not to inform, as long as they are not permenently leaving the site. From the profile, I will know that they are logging in and are still alive(both in real life and myLot) and safe, that would comfort me. When I see some close friends not logged in for months together, that really upsets me and I'm concerned about their well being. Hopefully, you are doing fine, enjoy your break.
