that you could save 40% over a years time on your electric bill just by unplugging things that you are not using? Items such as the toaster, coffee pot, blowdryer. I was a little skeptical of this at first, but then I read it in 3 or 4 different magazines. I have been practicing this since last year now.

I knew that. It saves electricity big time. I always unplug everything when I am done wit it. I also turn lights off when Im done with them

Yes, I also unplug everything now. I do turn lights out and use little table lamps at the computer and at the bedside. It is awful that we have to pinch like this due to the high prices of electricity. Sad, is what it is. I did not know about the unplugging before last year. My dad still doesn't believe me. He says if it isn't on, electricity isn't being used. Ha!

I've just started this with things like the HI-Fi, too early to tell what affect it has.

I've heard about this and have been doing it somewhat but I could do better. I would like to see some results from people about how much you save. It is definitly worth doing though.
