1 week back, there was a chess tournament held in my locality. It was somewhat like a big event.Around 150 participants were there. I went till finals. In finals,my opponent was quite strong or else got strong because i made a mistake and i knew it was a big mistake which would cost me the match.
suddenly, after 30 mins (in another 8-9 moves he would win),he requested the authourities that he had some problem and wanted to go the bathroom. The authourities told a timeout of 3 mins is allowed, should come before that.he didnt come(maybe some problem).Authourities told me after 3 mins, its in my hand either to wait or force forfeit.
well,i thought for some time and forced forfeit.I won.Everyone are blaming me now. What I did was right??
well,i know it is wrong to some extent. Not being sportive enough. But in a game,YOU have to go by rules and regulations.and that is what i did.Was it wrong? What do you feel?

According to the rules you were right but in life everything is not according to rules - after all we are human beings and not robots so if you had the courage to face him and were sure of your victory in the end you should have challanged him.

But that time,I was thinking of my victory and everyone loves to win. And even I am a human being. Humans have some desires.
