Bidding for a job

Has anyone joined a freelance job site where you can bid for a job? How have your experiences been? I have just joined Getafreelancer, and I am getting really confused in there. I haven't been able to spot an FAQ anywhere. Are there any Getafreelancer users here? What is a PMB?

I am a member of Scriptlance.com and Getafreelancer.com. I have had no luck on GAF, but do quiet well on Scriptlance.
I use the sites for programming jobs, but both have some writing categories.

PMB stands for Private Message Board. It is used to pass information about the project that may not have been listed in the original description as well as for you to ask questions before placing a bid.

Thanks a lot, Mike. GAF is more oriented towards programming jobs. But writerbin seems fine. I have just signed up over there. Thanks for the information.

Right, I was a freelancer on GAF but I brancehd out on my own, so firstly, I would like to say, if you are interested in freelance writing work, add me as a friend and then send me a message and I will gladly push some work your way.
Secondly, a PMB is a private message!

Hi Kim, thanks a lot for your response! I have added you as a friend, and I would sure like to have some work pushed my way. Thanks for solving the PMB mystery for me. I bid for a job today, and the service buyer sent a reply asking me to paste a sample of my writing in PMB. I was quite confused, and I guess I goofed up. :)
