Kids say the darnest things. My 5 year old.

My 5 year old daughter was sitting around singing Christmas carols. She must have learned them in school yesterday. Anyway I was talking to my hubby and had to stop and listen to her. She was singing deck the halls. But this is how she sang it. "Decorate the halls with dolls named Holly" I thought it was so cute. I thought about teaching her the right way to sing it but no I think I will let her sing it the way she wants for now.

lol...kids! My son used to sing very well but never got the lyrics of any of the songs right. It was fun then to listen to him sing. He knows the lyrics now (took his own sweet time)...but we enjoyed the baby singing while it lasted:) Yes, you are right in letting her sing it the way she wants to....you want her to enjoy herself instead of being engrossed in the 'right words'!

That is so cute, Lifez. She got a few of the words right. lol Let her sing it the way she wants, after all, she'll only be 5 for a year. She'll correct herself when she's ready to. My daughter used to call a friend of my Caffy, instead of Cathy, for a few years but I notice she now pronounces her name right. We both thought it was very cute and Cathy didn't want me correcting her on it.

Hi Lifez2short! oh yes, don't teach her yet the right words, she will learn them on her own but for now, do enjoy her own version as I have enjoyed it when I read this discussion. haha..It is really so cute. Take care and have a nice day. :)

I love some of the funny things the kids say. I would not have corrected her, either. The kids grow up so fast, and it's sad to see some of the innocence go. Thanks for sharing with us. That was really cute.

Kids always do the cutest things. Enjoy the way she sings because once she is grown up you wont get to hear such cute things from her. If possible record everything she does so that you can show her once she is old enough.

That's just too cute! I sure wouldn't correct her, she'll realize the correct lyrics probably by next Christmas season if not sooner. Anyway, I'd enjoy listening to her own unique version while it lasts. Annie

that is so cute. I loved and still love music but always sang the songs the way I heard them (not always correct) even today when I listen to a song I say: what that is not the way I sang that I even wrote some of my fav songs down in a book and a piss my self loughing now when I read it.

It is so cute to hear the way kids sing songs sometimes. They can be very creative when replacing some words in songs. Your daughters is cute.

Aww, that's adorble ^^ If I were you, I wouldn't correct her~ my mum always would to me to try and make me perfect and to do everything correctly... But it only ended up in me growing up feeling stifled and controlled

you better teach her , cause in her eyes - she's singing the right thing, and she might extend that to other things ,and still feels that she's doing the right thing , cause you failed to correct her . You're suppose to be her guide and guard , all through the way till she's old enough to make decisions for herself .
