I have read from a well-known boxing website that Bob Arum had a Manny Pacquiao - Oscar Dela Hoya duel sometime in Spetember. They are planning to Sell out the Rose Bowl for crying it loud. Do you think that is plain greed or just the best business move in boxing today?

I think Manny Pacquiao is a very skilled fighter, he's fast & very quick, extremely strong for his weight, not to mention he's a southpaw. But Oscar de la Hoya is equally as fast if not faster, he is definitely stronger physically a bigger guy, and has many fight experience.

I doubt that Oscar is faster than the PacMan but it is your opinion. So you are going for DLH ?

LOL Manny Pacquiao is a freaking super featherweight for God sakes! Before that he fought at lesser weights. Oscar Delahoya at his lowest weight fought at 135 this way almost 11-12 years ago. Manny Pacqiauo never foguht at 135 before and Oscar Delahoya not in his wildest dreams could make 135 again. this is a guy who walks around at 170-180 This has got to be a really sick joke. With all that said, PAcman by knockout lol

OK, so lets add an IF to it. IF ever they would really want to make this fight happen, they should agree on a catch weight. 140 lbs. would be fair for both, I guess. I am no expert. IF DLH would make that weight we would be seeing a fighter weighing 150-160 lbs on fight night fighting a fighter who would be at most weighing 145 lbs max. It would be your classic David VS Goliath match. IF ever this fight happens, regardless of who wins the actual bout. Both of the fighter would still be the winners, moneywise. I am talking about the fight with the most PPV buys ever and the fight with the most in attendance. This is certainly one of the best ridiculous ideas any boxing promoter have ever thought of.

it is crazy. it is plain greed for money. if it ever happens, i will feel like the boxing fans are being exploited to advance financial gains of few people than advancing the sweet science sport of boxing. i have read an article too floating the same idea. nowadays, de la hoya has become a businessman rather than a boxer that he was. his decision is based on cost and benefit analysis. i would like to understand his decision on this context. also, manny pacquiao is getting a fair share of becoming a businessman too in boxing. he has his own boxing promotions and most of his fights in the past years were more decided by how much than how great the fight would be. in fact, manny is no world champion. i thought boxers fight for the belts. now it's getting greedy that boxers fight for the money. too bad for us, fight fans.

Yeah, I was also thinking that it was really just plain greed but when you think about it. Wouldn't it be nice to see the PacMan on the fight with the highest PPV buys ever. It would be an awesome feat for Pac and DLH to fill up a venue like the Rose Bowl. No boxing promoter would ever think of that silly idea unless you pit two of the highest attractions in boxing today. I'd say this fight would be for everyone. Both hardcore and casual boxing fans. Heck. my grandmother might even watch it. lol
