This is a nightmare!!! I'm already 31 years old, never had chickenpox when I was youg and now I have it. I'm still on my third day of having this disease and I'm really scared of what will happen to me or what will I look like after this.I never really imagine myself having this at my age. It's unfair!! I don't know what to do or what to think anymore. I"m so depressed!

These child hood diseases are a real nightmare when an older person get them. Just try not to scratch the pestuals. If you can get someone to get you some aveeno oatmeal bath and cream. I have found it to work much better than calamine lotion. If you let the pestuals olone there shouldn't be any scaring. It will take time for the skin to heal too. after you recover you can put raw honey on the spots and the honey will help the skin to renew it's self. Sorry to hear you have the chickem pox. I remember how miserable they were and I was a child.

You should use raw honey. It is pure honey. I get mine from a health food store. the hooney that you get from the grocery store has been heated and other things are added. Raw honey is a great healer of many things. I give it with Bragg's unpasteurized apple cider vinegar for colds and soar throats instead of caugh syrups.

Thanks for the advice. You were saying honey can help renew the skin..how do you apply that? Can I use honey in jars which can be bought directly from supermarket or the honey cream from a cosmetic store?

Don't feel depressed. Just be careful that you don't pick those tiny things or else it will leave a mark. Just take care of yourself as it has to come in one's life. i got it when I was in 5th grade. It can happen at any age. So, it is not a new thing. So, stop worrying and utilize those free time by fulfilling your hobbies and reading. Try to make use of those free time and think positive. It is nothing serious and can go off smoothly without leaving mark if you take proper care. Get well soon.

I'm 24 and I've never had chickenpox. They say it's worse when you're older because when you're younger, the scars go away at once. Even if I've never had the disease, I've heard that you should scratch your blisters so that you wouldn't get scars when the chickenpox goes away. I really hope you get well soon.

No, blisters should not be scratched because it will get infected and leave very noticeable scars, well 'tis based on the articles that I read about chickenpox. But it is very logical that's why I'm avoiding even touching the blisters. The blisters will just run its full course and crust after a week.

Wow I have never heard of anyone having chicken pox at that age before I was 5 when I had them. You are old enough to know that you cant scratch them so you should look ok after them.

I had chicken pox while I was in high school. I got them really bad and missed like 3 weeks of school. Honestly, I had so many and some of them left really bad scars, especially the ones I itched alot. Fifteen years later, I still have some ver noticeable scars on my face and forehead from it, so my advice is to leave them alone as hard as it is.

So you mean if you really do not scratch the blister i won't really leave a scar? I'm really trying my best not to touch my skin and so far it's not yet that itchy. I guess it will be when the blisters starts to break out and form crusts just like some articles that I read. Did you take any medicine for the ones that got infected due to scratching.

don't be depress. i do believe that all of us will undergo experiencing chickenpox at some point of our lives. it is just that you had it later. it's okey. you will just be fine. just don't pinch those little "bubbles" on your skin so it won't cause you ugly marks later on. just relax, eat fruits and soon, chickenpox will be over. anne

i'm sorry to hear that you got the chicken pox. it's really uncomfortable, especially when it itches. but as much as it gets really itchy, do refrain from scratching them so you won't get any scars. i got the it when i was in high school and though i really tried my best not to scratch, it still left some marks. anyway, i hope you get well soon! :)

I think I know exactly how you feel. I never had chicken pox either till I was around 24. I little girl who was infected came to our house and before I knew what was happening, I was feeling sick in a very funny way. Later, I started getting rashes and itches all over. I went to see the doctor and she confirmed it was chicken pox and she gave me some medication for it. But it seems you just have to wait seven days for it to go and no matter how much medication you take, it will have to take seven days. Wishing you all the best with your recovery.

I'm really not sure what to say. It really depends on your severity. I had it mildly when I was a child and so did not have any scars. Just remember not to scratch or pick at them as that causes scars. Also make sure you go to a docter and keep updated with him. Chicken pox as an adult is different and can potentially be more hazardous.

You will be ok. Just do not scratch. Have someone get the proper anti itch stuff smear it on and you will be fine. Lukewarm baths help too. There is also an antiviral medication that you can get from the doctor that will shorten the duration. Call him, do not go in because you are contagious!! I have no resistance to the virus that causes chickenpox and have had it seven times. Mostley internally which is more dangerous than what you have. Your parents should have exposed you to a kid with the virus when you were a kid. If you have children now or in the future have them vacinated!
