ICE Campaign - "In Case o f Emergency"
We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which o f these numbers belong to our closest f amily or f riends.
I f we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds o f numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case o f an emergency? Hence this "ICE" (In Case o f Emergency) Campaign
The concept o f "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method o f contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the majority o f the population, all you need to do is store the number o f a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name "ICE" ( In Case O f Emergency).
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who f ound that when he went to the scenes o f accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He there f ore thought that it would be a good idea i f there was a nationally recognized name f or this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Sta f f would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as "ICE."
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a di f f erence!
Let's spr ead the concept o f ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!
Please f orward this. It won't take too many " f orwards" be f ore everybody will know about this . It really could save your li f e, or put a loved one's mind at rest . ICE will speak f or you when you are not able to.

It is a good idea to promote this worldwide ICE Campaign and I fully support this great idea.
Since cell phone has become so popular that almost everyone dose possess at least one so this way of accessing the right person to be contacted is quite practicable. I believe introducing this system could be the fastest and the most effective way to contact the right person concerned.
It is the responsibility of every cell phone owner to do his own part to store his ICE list in his cell phone first. Then he could forward this valuable information to all his friends in the way like chain emails.

that's an awesome idea! I think we should also do that here in our country. however, I think it would be useless here at some point, because sometimes, when an accident happens and the belongings of the person/s concerned got scattered about, there are inconsiderate, unconcerned people who would secretly grab those important belongings and put it on their pockets. so the victim would only be identified thru their IDs. ^.^
but that's looking on the dark side, I think that suggestion would really work and would fast track the establishment of communication with the immediate relatives of the person. ^__^

Thank you for a great discussion and a fantastic suggestion! I'm going to program a few ICE contacts on my cell phone immediately and tell my friends and family member s to do the same. It could really be a live-saver not to mention provide valuable evidence in the case of a crime. I'll be forwarding this message to as many people as I can think of.

That ICE thing is a great idea... i think i will put one in my cell phone just in case... we never know when an accident will occur... I think the government should encourage all cell phone owner to do this or at least the cell phone providers take the initiative of educating their customers in putting the ICE in their cell phones...
By the way... i like your new avatar...
